Flap Side Edges Permanently Secured To Bag (e.g., Sandwich Bag Type) Patents (Class 383/87)
  • Patent number: 9738420
Abstract: A mailer has an outer, longitudinally extending, biodegradable film with lateral edges folded on itself to form a pocket having an opening and sealable by a flap. An assembly is composed of an inner, longitudinally extending, biodegradable film having lateral edges and a longitudinal extending pad composed of textile cuttings and microbial and superabsorbent powders. The inner film extends longitudinally around the pad and is attached to the pad. The assembly is positioned in the pocket with the inner film being sealed to the outer film adjacent the opening to the pocket trapping the pad between the outer and inner films. Sealing tape is mounted on the inner film adjacent to the pocket to seal the pocket closed. The lateral edges of both the outer and inner films, which extend laterally beyond the pad, are heat sealed together. A container has an outer box an inner insulative layer. The insulative layer is made from flocked textiles and is mixable with absorbatives and antimicrobials.

Abstract: A multiple compartment bag comprises a backing sheet and a cover sheet forming a first compartment open at its top end. A second compartment, usually shorter, is formed by a compartment forming sheet and a closure sheet overlying the cover sheet and one another, these smaller sheets being sealed at their edges to the edges of the two larger sheets to maximize the width of the compartment. The second compartment opening is labyrinthine, formed by the overlap between the compartment forming sheet top portion and the overlying closure sheet bottom portion. • Patent number: 4493110
Abstract: This invention is a novel plastic bag and method of making it with a handle that extends upward through a folded-back top compartment, and the end of a front of the bag has a pocket with a similar folded-over top edge of the back of the bag. The bags of this invention are made from a continuous sheet, preferably a roll of plastic web that has its opposite side edges folded inwardly along opposite edges of the web to make the folded edges at the front and back sides of the bag. The web is then folded along its longitudinal center region with a gusset that forms the bottom of each bag. The bags have surfaces that are welded together to join areas of the front and of the back where necessary to weld plastic areas together, and certain areas do not weld where the plastic sheet is coated on areas that prevent heat applied to the plastic from fusing together.

  • Patent number: 4461030
Abstract: A bag formed from a single sheet of flexible material having two ends and two edges folded parallel to the ends to provide front and back surfaces that are sealed together along the edges to provide a pocket. Each of the surfaces extends toward an opening into the pocket through which articles for support may pass and from which articles may be removed. One of the surfaces extends beyond the opening of the pocket and is folded over the end of the other surface. The end of the folded over surface is positioned directly below the end of the other surface outside of the bag and elastic members are held captive within the ends whereby by stretching the bag in the direction of the sealed edges and maintaining the bag in a stretched condition a plurality of closure seals are formed to close the opening to the bag. In addition, when the bag is joined sealed edge to sealed edge and stretched around a form, the stretched ends of the bag that form the opening to the bag also support the bag around the form.

  • Patent number: 4408643
Abstract: Flexible plastic bags having a closure capable of withstanding external force applied to the bag. The bag has a top opening which may be easily opened and closed by a closure member secured to the exterior of the bag forming a pocket having an opening. The pocket opening extends across a portion of the bag substantially parallel to and spaced from the open end. The open end may be folded over upon itself at least two times or twisted upon itself at least three times and the pocket turned inside out over the end portion to form a closure which is resistant to external forces. The bag of this invention is especially suitable for retaining liquids and gases when an external pressure is applied to the bag.
