  • Patent number: 9657841
Abstract: A loading mechanism for a fluid seal that allows an installer to change or adjust the axial bias applied to a stacked set of sealing elements. The loading mechanism includes a bolt-like adjusting element that has a foot portion attached to one end and a rail element that is threadingly coupled at an opposite end. By rotating the adjusting element, the rail element can travel axially along the adjusting element. The axial displacement of the rail element allows the installer to select the amount of axial force or bias applied by the loading mechanism to the sealing elements.

  • Patent number: 9163667
Abstract: A plain bearing 1 comprising a hollow-cylindrical plain bearing body and a first flange arranged at a first end of the plain bearing body and extending radially outwardly, as well as a plain bearing system comprising the plain bearing and a bearing receiving means and a method of assembling the plain bearing system. To provide a plain bearing which for a press fit in a bearing receiving means allows greater dimensional tolerances in respect of the bearing receiving means, a ring of axially extending and peripherally spaced collar portions is provided at the second end of the plain bearing body, which is in opposite relationship to the first end, which collar portions can be bent over outwardly to afford a second flange.

  • Patent number: 5636849
Abstract: The invention relates to a diffuser (1), comprising a substantially cylindrical, vertical container (2), through which cellulose pulp is arranged to be transported, nozzle arms (6, 7) for delivering a fluid, such as washing liquid, to the pulp, concentrically disposed screen surfaces (3, 4) and screen arms (5) disposed on and connected to the said screen surfaces for withdrawal of the said fluid. The screen arms are provided, at their outer ends, with withdrawal pipes (26), directed substantially vertically downwards, which are slidably controlled and are connected in sealing arrangement to outlets for the said fluid. The invention relates also to a stuffing box designed to receive a rod, preferably a pull rod (29) for raising and lowering a screen pack having screen surfaces (3, 4) in a diffuser, the said rod being guided in sealing arrangement and slidably through a fixture (35; 35') which is mounted in a bearing for free movement in a plane substantially perpendicular to the said rod.

  • Patent number: 5401104
Abstract: A rod guide assembly for rotary applications has a stationary housing and a rotating housing. The stationary housing has an exterior, an interior, a first end and a second end. A primary stationary annular bushing is positioned in the interior at the first end of the stationary housing. The primary bushing has an interior bore. A bearing is provided having an outer race, and an inner race with an inner circumference. The outer race of the bearing is non-rotatably fixed to the stationary housing. A secondary annular rod guide is positioned in the interior at the second end of the stationary housing. Annular packing is disposed within the interior of the stationary housing to provide a fluid seal. The cylindrical rotating housing has an exterior, an interior, a first end and a second end. The exterior has a neck portion adjacent the second end. The neck is adapted to engage the inner circumference of the inner race of the bearing disposed at the first end of the stationary housing.
