Abstract: Provided is a grease collection arrangement for collecting waste grease from a grease lubricated rotor blade pitch bearing of a wind turbine, whereby the grease collection arrangement includes at least one waste grease collector and multiple extraction tubes, wherein each one of the multiple extraction tubes is connected to the at least one waste grease collector and the multiple extraction tubes are configured to being connected to multiple grease outlets of the rotor blade pitch bearing, whereby the grease collection arrangement is configured such that the waste grease from the rotor blade pitch bearing can flow into the at least one waste grease collector by gravity and centrifugal forces.

Abstract: An edge seal for sealing an outer surface of a lower electrode assembly configured to support a semiconductor substrate in a plasma processing chamber, the lower electrode assembly including an annular groove defined between a lower member and an upper member of the lower electrode assembly. The edge seal includes an elastomeric band configured to be arranged within the groove, the elastomeric band having an annular upper surface, an annular lower surface, an inner surface, and an outer surface. When the elastomeric band is in an uncompressed state, the outer surface of the elastomeric band is concave. When the upper and lower surfaces are axially compressed at least 1% such that the elastomeric band is in a compressed state, an outward bulging of the outer surface is not greater than a predetermined distance. The predetermined distance corresponds to a maximum outer diameter of the elastomeric band in the uncompressed state.

A carrier is disposed radially outward of the ring shaped sealing component and supports the ring shaped sealing component. A housing includes a shroud portion. Abstract: A device is disclosed including a wear ring made with thermoplastic material formed as a hollow cylinder with an inside diameter and an outside diameter. Abstract: As seal assembly for a ram assembly is provided. An elongated ram extends through the seal assembly. The seal assembly includes a housing body, a plurality of seals and a retaining, and compression, device. The seals, as well as a male energizer and a female energizer, each have a split body. In this configuration, the seals and energizers may be replaced without removing the seal assembly housing body and retaining device from about the ram. This further allows for the ram to remain in place during seal replacement. That is, the split seals may be separated an placed about the ram. Once in place, the ends of the split seal are joined at an interface. The retaining/compression device compresses the seals so that the interface is sealed.
Abstract: A shaft support and lubrication system can include two vise bearings, a lantern ring, and two or more sets of packings. The vise bearings can be rigid cylinder tubes. The lantern ring can be a flexible cylindrical tube with one or more outer grooves on an outer diameter, one or more inner grooves on an inner diameter, and one or more through holes from either the outer diameter or the one or more outer grooves to either the inner diameter or the one or more inner grooves. When arranged coaxially and installed on a shaft, the shaft support and lubrication system provide physical stabilization and provide lubrication or cleaning solution to the shaft.
Abstract: To address the problem of flush fluid leakage under normal operating conditions in rotary machinery, an improved pack-box has been conceived. The pack-box has a rotary bearing concentrically disposed within the pack-box, wherein a circumferential segment of the rotary bearing is circumferentially fixed within the pack-box. The pack-box further comprises a wall-step that defines at least a first thermal expansion channel and an inner wall that defines at least a second thermal expansion channel.
Abstract: A bearing assembly for supporting a shaft comprising a support cartridge, a seal and a spacer is provided. The seal may be a multi-component seal including an outer ring and an inner sleeve, which rotates with the shaft. The seal's outer ring may have a first inwardly projecting annular lip, a second inwardly projecting annular lip and an annular groove defined between the first lip and the second lip. The seal's inner sleeve may have a peripheral flange retained in the outer ring's annular groove. The spacer is adapted to axially locate the inner sleeve's flange. Particularly, the spacer is configured for locating the inner sleeve's flange in the groove of the outer ring so that the flange does not contact either the first lip or the second lip during operation. The spacer may axially locate the inner sleeve such that the inner sleeve's collar contacts an inwardly-extending sealing ring.
Abstract: A system for providing sealed shaft bearing is disclosed. The system can include housing and one or more end caps. The end caps can house one or more seals and one or more bearings for supporting a shaft. The housing can be watertight to prevent water from infiltrating the housing and to prevent lubricant, if any, from escaping the housing into the environment. The system can use a multi-piece design to facilitate repair and maintenance. The system can be easily retrofitted into systems, such as marine systems, that use conventional plain shaft bearings.
Abstract: An apparatus for sealing a fan drive shaft in a vacuum heat treating furnace is disclosed. The sealing apparatus includes a housing having an annular body and a central opening. An inflatable first seal surrounds the central opening of the annular body. A second seal surrounds the central opening and is adjacent to the inflatable first seal. The sealing apparatus also includes a channel formed in the annular body adjacent to the second seal for conducting a purging fluid into the central opening. A means for injecting the purging fluid into the central opening is operably connected to the channel. A vacuum heat treating furnace and a fan drive system incorporating the sealing apparatus are also described.

Abstract: In a mud-lubricated bearing assembly for a downhole motor, a mechanical seal is provided between the mandrel and the lower end of the bearing housing to prevent discharge of drilling fluid (mud) from the bearing assembly into the wellbore annulus. The mechanical seal is effected by mating wear-resistant annular contact surfaces provided on the mandrel and the bearing housing, with biasing means preferably being provided to keep the contact surfaces in sealing engagement during both on-bottom and off-bottom operational modes. The diverted drilling fluid passing through the bearings is redirected into the bore of the mandrel via ports through the mandrel wall to rejoin the main flow to the drill bit, such that substantially all of the drilling fluid flows through the bit.

Abstract: A bearing cooling structure includes a metal base seat and a plastic bearing cup. The metal base seat has a raised section and an extension section. The plastic bearing cup encloses the raised section and has an inner circumference defining a bearing hole. The extension section horizontally extends from the raised section toward a center of the plastic bearing cup. The extension section has a free end and an upper surface positioned in the bearing hole. A bearing is received in the bearing hole and disposed on the extension section. A bottom face of the bearing is in contact with the upper surface of the extension section. Abstract: An exemplary bearing cartridge assembly includes an inner sleeve. An outer housing is supported for rotation relative to the inner sleeve. A bearing member within the outer housing and received about the inner sleeve facilitates rotation of the outer housing relative to the inner sleeve. The bearing member has an axial dimension (e.g., a width) that is smaller than an axial inner dimension of the outer housing. The bearing member is positioned relative to the inner sleeve and the outer housing to provide a first lubricant space between one side wall of the outer housing and the bearing member and a second lubricant space between an opposite side wall of the outer housing and the bearing member. There is at least one through passage between the first and second lubricant spaces to allow lubricant to move between them.
Abstract: A sliding bearing structure for a shaft member includes: a shaft member; a bearing member rotates relative to the shaft member; an oil supply space to which lubrication is supplied between sliding surfaces of the shaft member and the bearing member; two annular grooves formed in a circumferential direction in an inner peripheral surface of the bearing member; and two annular seal members formed as separate pieces from the shaft member and the bearing member, and arranged in the annular grooves between the shaft member and the bearing member. Each annular seal member is formed in plural, and is made of material having a thermal expansion coefficient such that an inside diameter of the annular seal member is smaller than an inside diameter of the bearing member at a low temperature, and is the same as or larger than the inside diameter of the bearing member at a high temperature.

Abstract: A sealed spherical bearing is disclosed, having a race and a ball disposed therein. A seal between the race and the ball inhibits the ingress of contaminants into the spherical bearing. The seal has a first edge. The first edge is secured to a retainer, which is press-fit into an annular groove defined by the race. The ball and the race are rotatable relative to each other. A second edge of the seal is seated in a second annular groove defined the ball. A lubricant is disposed inside the second annular groove. A convex surface of the ball and a concave surface of the race form a sliding surface. A self-lubricating treatment is applied to one or more of the sliding surfaces.

Abstract: In an oil-sealed bearing assembly in the bearing section of a mud motor, in which a mandrel is rotatably disposed within a cylindrical housing, a cylindrical sleeve is disposed coaxially and rotatably around the mandrel, with the sleeve being non-rotatably mounted to an inner surface of the housing, thereby forming an annular piston chamber forming part of a generally annular oil reservoir. The sleeve provides radial support to the mandrel along the length of the piston chamber by virtue of the flexural stiffness of the sleeve. The mandrel rotates within the sleeve, with a radial bearing being provided between the sleeve and the mandrel. An annular piston is axially movable within the piston chamber in response to variations in the volume of oil in the reservoir. The piston slides within the piston chamber without rotation relative to either the housing or the sleeve.
Abstract: A leakproof structure of a shaft tube comprises a shaft tube, a bearing, a shaft and a leakproof plate. The shaft tube includes a center hole, an upper section adjacent to an open end of the shaft tube and a lower section having an inner diameter smaller than that of the upper section. The bearing received in the lower section includes a longitudinal hole. The shaft rotatably mounted into the bearing includes an annular groove formed in an outer periphery thereof to form a neck of the shaft. The leakproof plate fixed in the upper section includes a through-hole with a diameter smaller than the outer diameters of the two sections of the shaft, with an inner edge of the leakproof plate being in the annular groove.
Abstract: A bellows bearing is a tube body formed by coaxially wrapping a wire. The tube body has a plurality of consecutively arranged bumps and recesses. End edges of the plurality of bumps form a contact portion, and the plurality of recesses forms an oil storage portion. Thus, when a mini rotating device using the bellows bearing rotates, a desirable lubricating, shock-resistant, and debris-removal effect can be achieved, thereby increasing the service life of the mini rotating device.

Abstract: An object is to reduce manufacturing cost of a housing, and enable to disuse an adhesive in fixation portions between a housing and a bearing sleeve and the like. A housing 7 is made of resin material, which comprises a liquid crystal polymer (LCP) as crystalline resin blended with carbon nanotubes in a blending ratio of 2 to 35 vol % as a conductive filler, by injection molding. A bearing sleeve 8, which is inserted into the inner peripheral surface 7c of the housing 7, is secured to the housing 7 by ultrasonic welding.
Abstract: A rock drilling machine equipped with an axial bearing having at least one axial piston for setting the axial position of a drill shank and for damping stress pulses returning from the rock. The axial bearing includes a module that is detachable in one piece from one installation direction. The axial bearing module includes all necessary seals, bearing surfaces, and a module frame. Supporting forces caused by the operation of the axial bearing are transmitted of support members in the module frame directly to the body of the rock drilling machine, which is a uniform piece at least at the axial bearing.
