Disk Plow Patents (Class 384/460)
  • Patent number: 11364607
Abstract: The present invention relates to a tool for expediting the separation of different components of a wheel hub. The tool includes a base and a top that is rotatably connected to the base. The tool may also include a bearing that is connected to the base and to the top, where the bearing enables the rotation of the top relative to the base. A portion of a wheel hub may be located relative to the top, after which the wheel hub and top can be rotated. While this occurs, a heat source can be applied to a portion of the wheel hub to enable even heating. As a result of this heating and related expansion, a first wheel hub piece may be separated from a second wheel hub piece.

  • Patent number: 10844908
Abstract: A concentrated high-speed rigid hub allows for heavier planters, high-speed planting and seeding devices in multiple and multiple challenging applications such as no-till, high cation exchange capacity (CEC) soils, compact soils, moist soils, high concentrations of stubble and or Bacillus thuringiensis (Bt) crops, and cover or green crops with massive structured root systems. The hub is made of one of high strength forging steel and medium carbon cast steel, whereby the hub lessons hub flexing, hub bending, cracking and premature failure. The hub comprises rigid, heavy duty deep bosses or gussets which increase structural strength and maximize the strength of attachment points adapted for either bolts or rivets attachment to a blade or object.

  • Patent number: 10808764
Abstract: A bearing assembly engaged with an end of a rotatable shaft. The assembly includes a hub defining a first bore extending between a first opening at a first end of the hub and a second opening at a second end of the hub. A bearing sleeve engaged in the first bore defines a second bore. The shaft's end is inserted through a first opening in the second bore. A sealed bearing located between the bearing sleeve and the hub's interior surface enables relative rotation therebetween. A first sealing mechanism seals the first bore's first opening and a second sealing mechanism seals the second openings of both of the first and second bores. The first sealing mechanism includes an L-shaped ring circumscribing the bearing sleeve and a rubber sealing member. The second sealing mechanism includes a hemispherical region and flange secured to the hub by a retaining ring.

  • Patent number: 9408338
Abstract: In a disc assembly for supporting a ground engaging disc on a respective support arm of a vertical tillage implement, the disc supporting hub has an annular body rotatably supported on a shaft. The outer end of the annular body is enclosed by a cap and the inner end of the annular body is enclosed by an end plate fixed on the shaft relative to which the annular body is rotated. First and second annular flanges on the inner end of the annular body receive a tongue portion of the end plate therein so as to define a sinuous, narrow clearance gap where the annular body of the hub and the end plate of the shaft are in a non-contacting, rotatable relationship with one another. The sinuous, narrow clearance gap minimizes penetration of soil and residue therethrough to the interior of the hub where bearings are located.

  • Patent number: 7073949
Abstract: A maintenance free repetitive sealing system for a disk blade bearing hub utilizing an integrated system of components to seal and protect the primary bearing seal. The blade side of the spindle includes a hub overlap portion which deflects dirt, keeps large debris out, and prevents wrapping. A plastic seal protector keeps dirt and debris from pushing directly into external seal lips of a multiple lip seal. The lip seal provides positive sealing and is backed up by a grease layer barrier. The hub overlap, plastic seal protector, and grease barrier protect the bearing seal. The back side of the bearing hub is positively sealed with a protected O-ring and dust cap combination. The cap combination also protects the blade mounting hardware threads and nut.

  • Patent number: 5678930
Abstract: A bearing assembly has first and second trunnions supporting a bearing and defining a trunnion pivot axis. In the improvement, each of the trunnions is mounted in and supported by a separate cushion member of annular shape. The assembly permits bearing pivoting about the trunnion pivot axis (i.e., about the X axis) and the cushion members permit limited freedom of movement of the trunnions in axes (i.e., the Y and/or Z axes) which are angular to the pivot axis. The new bearing assembly is ideal for use on an earth-working implement such as a disc harrow.

  • Patent number: 5487613
Abstract: An adaptor for use with an inner bearing ring having a cylindrical bore. The adaptor comprises a tubular portion having a cylindrical outer surface adapted to be received within the inner bearing ring cylindrical bore and a non-cylindrical inner surface adapted to receive a non-cylindrical shaft. A plurality of foldable tabs are distributed along the circumference of the ends of the adaptor. The foldable tabs have a uniform thickness in the axial direction and are directed substantially radially outwardly from the cylindrical outer surface of the tubular portion and are angled axially inwardly. The tubular portion and foldable tabs are formed integrally of a resilient material such that the foldable tabs transiently fold to permit insertion of the adaptor into the bearing ring cylindrical bore and engage end surfaces of the bearing ring to retain the adaptor in the inner bearing ring after insertion.

  • Patent number: 5178472
Abstract: A bearing has an inner ring coaxial to and rotatable relative to an outer ring. A central bore of the inner ring accommodates a multi-sided shaft in at least two positions that are angularly offset relative to each other. Each position provides a different fit between the inner ring and the shaft. A preferred embodiment has a 12-pointed star-shaped bore defined by the superposition of two hexagons of slightly different scale, to accommodate a hexagonal shaft in either of two positions. The second position provides a tighter fit between the bearing and the shaft without requiring tighter manufacturing tolerances.
