  • Publication number: 20020102106
Abstract: The present invention relates to a processing system and method for processing photographic material. The processing system and method of the invention is adapted to recover water from humid air for reuse in the processor, as well as convert a liquid waste processing solution into a dry waste for disposal. In the system and method of the present invention, heated air is circulated through the processor and comes into contact with a cold surface to condense the heated air. The water resulting from this contacting of the heated air with the cold surface can be collected and recycled back to the processor for reuse in the processor. Further, waste solution can be absorbed by a matting material appropriately placed in the processor which evaporates the waste solution to a solid waste for subsequent disposal.

  • Patent number: 6048113
Abstract: Photographic sheet material is processed using a processing cell through which the sheet material passes. Process liquid is fed from a collapsible storage container to the cell and returned from the cell to the container. The returning liquid is caused to enter the container as a jet stream. A cap assembly for the container comprises a body releasably connected to an upwardly facing mouth of the container. Inlet and outlet passages pass through the body and the inlet passage opening into the container is provided with a cross-sectional area smaller than that of the outlet passage to enable the jet stream to be achieved. Mixing of the returning process liquid in the container in a simple and economical manner is possible without compromising the ability of the container to collapse.

  • Patent number: 6024503
Abstract: A photograph developing apparatus includes a main processing tank and a sub-tank which is connected to the main processing tank. The sub-tank is provided with a filter, a sensor, and the like in order to filter processing solution and feed the filtered processing solution back to the main processing tank. The sub-tank has a lid for covering the top of the sub-tank. The lid has an evaporation prevention block which is extended to a point below the surface of the processing solution. Cavity portions are formed in the evaporation prevention block at least at positions corresponding to the filter and the sensor. Alternatively, evaporation of the processing solution is suppressed through employment of an evaporation prevention block which floats on the surface of the processing solution. In this case as well, cavity portions are formed in the block at least at positions corresponding to the filter and the sensor.
