Abstract: The invention relates to a toner for developing a toner image, the toner comprising a binder resin, a colorant, a first wax and a compatibilizer. The wax is finely dispersed within the toner. The compatibilizer has a melting transition, wherein the lower temperature limit of the melting transition is between 110° C. and 140° C. at the time of temperature rise in the DSC curve measured using a differential scanning calorimeter. The invention further relates to a printing system for applying the toner according to the present invention on an image receiving medium. The invention further relates to a method for preparing the toner according to the present invention.
Abstract: A toner including a core particle and projections at a surface of the core particle is provided. The core particle includes a binder resin and a colorant. The binder resin includes a crystalline resin as a major component. Each of the projections consists of a fine resin particle. An average length of long sides of the projections is not less than 0.15 ?m and less than 0.5 ?m. A standard deviation of lengths of the long sides of the projections is 0.2 or less. A surface coverage of the toner with the projections is within a range of 30 to 90%.

Abstract: A developer cartridge provided in an image-forming device has a developer side casing that includes a toner-accommodating chamber and a developing chamber; and a plate wall disposed in the developing chamber for partitioning a thickness-regulating blade from the toner-accommodating chamber. When a thickness-regulating blade scrapes excess charged toner off the developing roller, the plate wall prevents this charged toner from returning to the toner-accommodating chamber. A flexible wiper for cleaning toner detection windows is attached to an agitator for stirring toner in the toner-accommodating chamber via a fixing member. The fixing member includes a support plate and a gripping plate disposed opposite each other with a slit formed therebetween. The wiper is inserted into the slit and is fixed to the fixing member when a boss protruding from a restricting plate becomes inserted into a through-hole formed in the wiper.

Abstract: A developing device is disclosed which includes a developing tank, a developing roller, a carrying member, and a filter. Rotation of the developing roller causes a first airflow directed from the outside of the developing tank through an air path to the inside of the developing tank. Rotation of the carrying member causes a second airflow directed from below in an upward direction inside the developing tank. Collision between the first airflow and the second airflow causes a third airflow directed from the inside of the developing tank through the filter to the outside of the developing tank and further from the outside through the filter back to the inside of the developing tank. This arrangement prevents not only filter clogging but also a toner leak to the outside of the developing device.

Abstract: A manufacturing apparatus provided with a rotary stirring section and a powder passage is used to manufacture the resin-layer coated carrier. At a fine resin particle adhering step, a magnetic base particle and a fine resin particle are inputted into the powder passage with the rotary stirring section rotating and the fine resin particle is adhered onto the surface of the magnetic base particle. At a spraying step, at least a liquid that plasticizes the fine resin particles is sprayed with spray gas from a spraying section on the magnetic base particle and the fine resin particle which are in a fluidized state in the powder passage. At a film-forming step, rotation by the rotary stirring section is continued to fluidize the magnetic base particles and the fine resin particles until the fine resin particles adhered to the magnetic base particles are softened to form a film.
