  • Publication number: 20080222790
Abstract: Assist means to aid users of bath and shower facilities; said means having installation independent of the typical screw type wall fasteners. Assist means comprising a horizontal grip bar having longitudinal, lateral, and vertical restraints. The longitudinal restraints consist of compressible means rotatively attaching to each extremity of the grip bar. Said lateral restraints comprise tensile means, suction cups, or like means, securing the grip bar to an enclosure wall parallel to the bar. During installation the grip bar is rotated about its longitudinal axis, causing the compressible means at each extremity to forcefully engage an enclosure wall. The vertical restraints connect to the grip bar and to lower compressible means that secure said restraints to the rim of a bathtub. A tub entry-exit bar and lift bar attaching to said grip bar provide safe assistance for the user.

  • Publication number: 20080098510
Abstract: A wall mounted pivoting and locking support rail assembly providing improved support to assist elderly and physically challenged persons with safely using a bathtub or shower area. The present invention mounts to the wall like a conventional grab bar, however, it adds an additional rail handle with the ability to pivot outward from the wall, and lock in one of several angular positions to extend support outward from the wall, and more to the centre of a shower or tub. This outward support is invaluable to assist with elderly and disabled persons to safely enter, use, and exit from the bathtub without dangerous reaching.

  • Patent number: 7124451
Abstract: A safety grab bar, such as may be used in a shower or a tub enclosure, comprises an inner liner, preferably formed of an extruded metal, and an outer overlying layer, preferably formed of a polymeric material such as plastic. The inner and outer liner mate together with a tongue and groove arrangement to prevent relative rotation between them. The inner liner and the outer overlying layer define the grab bar portion, and terminate at each end in a female receptacle, adapted to receive a male portion of a mounting bracket. The mounting bracket smoothly curves to complete a 90° turn, in order mount into a wall of the shower or bath enclosure. The male and female mating portions are flush at their outer dimensions to provide a smooth, unbroken profile. The male and female portions also include tongue and groove mating surface to prevent rotation of the grab bar within the mounting bracket.

  • Patent number: 7111336
Abstract: A bathroom wall mounted rack has mounts with a wall end as one end; holes set on the wall mount, and in the center one frame is perforated to the wall end. Through holes are set on the connector end of frame in the condition of radial transfixion, and the two ends of through hole are corresponding to the fillisters of wall mount. Bolts go through the through hole of frame connector end, the two ends protrude on two sides of frame connector ends and further embed into two fillisters of wall mount correspondingly so as to connect and fix the frame and wall mount. Therefore, the combination and orientation design of bolts will enable the frame to have an effect of firm support and orientation to actually avoid from circumvolution, loose and split so as to meet the advancement requirements of more firmness and durability.

  • Patent number: 6671897
Abstract: A lift assisting device and a stabilizing device for a bather and a showerer, respectively. The device includes a rope and a plurality of rungs. The rope is suspended from a ceiling. The plurality of rungs are operatively connected to the rope for grasping by the bather to assist in lifting and the showerer for stabilizing. The plurality of rungs are molded around the rope so as to form an integral unit therewith. The rope is one-piece for integrity and passes through the plurality of rungs to define a path that is double-helix-like that prevents the bather and the showerer from falling if one of the plurality of rungs fails since double lengths of the rope pass through each of the plurality of rungs.
