  • Patent number: 5604633
Abstract: A condensation-free shower mirror includes a mirror (10) enclosed by a housing (12). The housing is attached to one end of a positionable arm (16), which has a C-clip (17) at another end for clipping onto a water pipe (18) of a shower head (19). The rear surface of the mirror has a protective coating or backing. Prior to shaving or other use, the mirror is positioned in a hot shower stream (20) to be heated. When the mirror is heated above the dew point of water, it will become free of condensation, and can be used for shaving or grooming, either with the hot water continuing to flow onto its rear surface, or after it is moved away from the water spray. After use, it can be easily positioned away from the shower stream so that the user can resume normal showering. The mirror can be easily detached from the pipe and easily clipped onto another, so that it can be used in different hotel rooms when traveling, as well as in the home.

  • Patent number: 5544701
Abstract: A warming apparatus uses shower or bath water to warm a canister, such as a shaving cream canister, to a comfortable temperature while washing or showering. The canister is inserted into a warming chamber which is partially surrounded by a water jacket formed between an inner wall, an outer wall, an upper end plate and a lower end plate. An inlet fitting extends from the water jacket to a water supply line. An outlet fitting extends from the water jacket to a shower head. As shower water flows through the water jacket heat is transferred from the water to the inner wall, and from the inner wall to the warming chamber. The inner wall may be ribbed or finned to increase the surface area of the inner wall within the water jacket. The unit may alternatively be connected into the water line by flexible hoses running from the warming apparatus to a diverter fastened between the pipe and shower head. The warming chamber may include at least one drain hole extending from the warming chamber.

  • Patent number: 5544369
Abstract: A portable shower system which when disassembled is stored in its own base, to define a suitcase-like base enclosing all of the support, curtain, and hose structure for transport when not in use, and expandable to a full height, fully enclosed shower stall. The shower stall may use a variety of water sources, either by a gravity fed shower bag, or by a pressure fed system. A compartment in the hollow base serves as a waste water collection chamber. Disposal of waste water can be done by either sealing the base and transporting to a waste disposal area, or connecting a hose to the discharge port, and directing the waste water away from the front of the shower, as well as other means of evacuating waste water from the base. The shower stall may also be used as a privacy room for changing clothes or as a restroom stall, when used in conjunction with a portable toilet. The shower stall may also be used as a decontamination unit when used with optional equipment.

  • Patent number: 5416635
Abstract: A condensation-free shower mirror includes a housing (11) holding a mirror (10) and a urethane water container (18). The water container, which is substantially the same size and shape as the mirror, is fitted against the back side of the mirror. The water container is fitted with a filling-cap assembly (12) to allow a water-tight seal. Two suction cups (14) extending from the back side of the housing allows the shower mirror to be easily mounted against a shower stall or a wall mirror. When the container is filled with hot water, it heats the mirror above the dew point of water, so that the mirror will remain condensation-free in a steamy environment. Because the shower mirror can be filled with hot tap water, it is portable so that it can be conveniently used in any bathroom.

  • Patent number: 5414879
Abstract: The present invention is related to a shower apparatus provided with a plurality of shower discharge ports. More specifically, a shower apparatus is disclosed in which hot water remains in a hot water line connected to several shower discharge ports, after a discharge has been completed. Hot water within the hot water line which has lowered in temperature is drained through a drain valve in order to dispose of the water. At the beginning of the next shower discharge, cold water is prevented from being discharged. The operation of an opening and closing valve for effecting discharge and stoppage of each shower discharge port is controlled according to control programs, whereby the shower discharge is substantially controlled. The content of the shower discharge, carried out according to the programs, can be changed by a user through the operation of a central section. Moreover, upon the start of a shower discharge, a sudden jet of water is prevented.

  • Patent number: 5168586
Abstract: A device used to reclaim shower waste water for flushing toilets and watering gardens. During the course of a shower, several shallow-plastic molded reservoirs are situated intermediately between the shower basin and the feet of the person standing upon them. The top surface forms a sloped recess for collecting water and an open inlet port at the recessed end allows the water to drain into the reservoir. The weight of a person standing upon the top surface is supported by an internal array of posts projecting upwardly from the bottom surface. A dispenser is used in conjuction with an outlet to retain and release the collected water. When the full reservoir is placed in an upright position on top of a toilet set with the outlet at the lowermost position, the dispenser is manually actuated thus releasing water through the outlet with sufficient flow rate to flush the toilet. A shoulder strap and sprinkler accessory may be attached for use as a portable watering container in the garden.

  • Patent number: 5070552
Abstract: A hand held shower head especially--but not exclusively--for personal use has a porous sponge removably clamped over the holes from which a water spray normally issues. The sponge converts the spray into a flowing cascade of water. The sponge is changeable so that each user may have a clean surface, as he sees fit or so that different spray characteristics may be achieved. An arrangement is provided for hanging up the sponge if a user wishes to use the shower with the spray instead of with the cascading flow of water.
