  • Patent number: 9070307
Abstract: A system for simulating a surgical procedure, which includes a housing covering an anatomical model. The model is made up of simulated tissue supported on a base assembly that allows pivoting and rotation of the simulated tissue. The simulated tissue includes a portion that represents soft tissue, such as dermal tissue, muscle, connective tissue and the like, and a portion that represents hard tissue, such as osseous tissue. The housing includes apertures through which a surgical instrument may be inserted for simulating a procedure on the simulated tissue. Cannulas may be set within the apertures.

  • Patent number: 4864751
Abstract: The telephone index has a plurality of selection keys and a spring-operated drawer witha stack of index cards, which is held in the index housing by means of a locking device in such a way that on operating a selection key the drawer locking means is released and consequently the drawer with the selected index card and the index cards below it is extended, while the index cards located above the selected card are held back in the index housing by means of a card hold-back device released by the operated selection key and is constructed in such a way that the unlocking of the drawer on operating a selection key takes place by a drawer position change in such a way that in its front region the drawer is lowered counter to the tension of a spring element and simultaneously the drawer locking means is released on the upper edge of the housing opening for the drawer, so that the drawer can be extended, the drawer locking means comprising a stop cam shaped onto the upper edge of the front drawer terminal ledge and

  • Patent number: 4685232
Abstract: An indexing device having a container for holding a plurality of cards therein and a cover pivotally mounted to the container by means of a shaft. When the cover is opened by the force of a resilient spring, the card placed at a desired location is exposed. A damping mechanism is provided around the shaft of the device to prevent the cover from being suddenly swung open, which would otherwise be caused by the resilient force.

  • Patent number: 4412631
Abstract: A dispenser for the controlled one at a time dispensing of a magnetic card to an operator who inserts the card into a magnetic card reader for entry of an active number in an "Electronic Point of Sale" advertising medium reaching a predetermined captive audience while engaged in the spending of money, such as in supermarkets, shopping centers, hotels, trade shows, airports, drug stores and the like. The card is also used to imprint the card number embossed thereon on coupons in a coupon book then handed to the shopper with the card then returned to the dispenser to enable the sequential dispersing of another card. A card being reinserted into the card dispensing carousel is inserted into a card return slot to rest at one end on a retainer upper ledge until an operator depresses an actuator button forcing the end edge of the returned card past the upper edge of the retainer down onto a lower ledge of the retainer activating a carousel upper drive switch in the process.

  • Patent number: 4351125
Abstract: A telephone index comprises a box stand on which a telephone can be placed and an index comprising a stack of cards in a drawer, any selected one of which can be presented for inspection upon pressing the respective one of a plurality of buttons. Levers are mounted in an upper part of the box and extend from the front towards the rear thereof, the levers are pivotably mounted about a common transverse and generally horizontal axis located at a position forward of the push buttons and each co-operates with a respective one of the push buttons such that pressing any one of the push buttons depresses a rearwardly extending arm of a respective one of the levers to move a downwardly extending projection at the rear end of the lever downwardly into engagement with an abutment surface and raises a forwardly extending arm of the lever against the bias of a spring to trip a drawer catch to allow the spring biassed drawer to open.

  • Patent number: 4070776
Abstract: A directory casing comprising a base supporting an unbound stack of tab-indexed cards thereon, and a top cover pivotally coupled at its rear end to the base, with the tabs of the cards projecting forwardly out of the top cover. Upon manual depression of any selected tab, the top cover opens automatically with the card or cards overlying the card having the selected tab. In the directory casing of this general character, the invention provides means for holding the stack of cards in rearwardly declining disposition on the base, whereby when any selected tab is depressed, a comparatively great spacing is formed between the card having the selected tab and the overlying card or cards, and failure-proof opening of the top cover is assured.
