  • Patent number: 6363641
Abstract: A hand-held wafer-like signal which is essentially flat octagonally shaped with a handle at the lower end. It has a front side and a back side. The front side is a unitary construction made by plastic injection molding and has a reflector surface, one-half of a handle and a one-half of a cylindrical light housing which is essentially perpendicular to the reflective surface. There is a back side which is also made by injection molding and also has a reflective surface inside an octagonal frame, one-half of a battery container and one-half a cylindrical light housing. The one-half front and back sides are secured together as by screwing and when assembled it becomes a lightweight weatherproof hand-held signal.

Abstract: The present invention provides a battery powered, hand-held signaling device having an illuminated display capable of selectively displaying illuminated indicia including the words “STOP”, “SLOW” and “GO”. The illuminated indicia are preferably color-coded, whereby the word “STOP” is displayed in illuminated red letters, the word “GO” is displayed in illuminated green letters, and the word “SLOW” is illuminated in yellow letters thereby maximizing recognition by an observer, such as the driver of an approaching vehicle. Selection of a particular message to be displayed is accomplished by user actuation of suitable electrical switching circuitry. In alternate embodiments, the device may be adapted for displaying a host of other illuminated messages, such as “TURN RIGHT,” “TURN LEFT,” “PARK,” etc.

  • Patent number: 6347468
Abstract: Currently at airports, cruise ship terminals and the like disembarking travellers are met by travel personnel such as travel agents, taxi drivers etc. who have been hired to transport a particular traveller to a destination but do not personally know their target traveller and so display a hand-written sheet or sign with the traveller's name written thereon so that the target traveller will see his/her name and identify himself/herself to the travel personnel. Such greeting signs are often difficult to read due to poor lighting and are unprofessional looking. The present invention provides an illuminated greeting sign on which the greeting message can be easily changed, in particular by using a translucent back-lit panel, illuminated by a battery-powered light, on which erasable marker messages may be written.

  • Patent number: 6314585
Abstract: A process is provided for making a garment having at least one image at a selected position on the garment. A marker is created containing a sight point and an identification of the bounds of at least some of the pieces of the garment. The position and orientation of the image relative to the sight point on the marker is identified such that the image is at a selected position within the identified bounds of at least one of the pieces. A sight point and at least one image are printed on the raw fabric, the image being printed at a position and orientation relative to the sight point on the fabric that is the same as the relation of the position and orientation of the image to the sight point on the marker. The marker is positioned relative to the fabric so that the sight points are aligned, and the fabric is cut into garment pieces which are assembled to form the garment.
