  • Patent number: 4715842
Abstract: A doll construction is disclosed wherein fingerprints are provided for each doll, with a different set of fingerprints for each doll, and with a record being provided for recording fingerprint data and other information concerning the characteristics of each doll. A similar record of information is maintained for the child owning the doll. A listing of safety rules is also provided for use by the parents and the child. The doll construction is provided as a means of encouraging parents to fingerprint their children and to educate them by teaching them the safety rules, thus avoiding having the child become missing from his or her family. In one embodiment, a code is selected for the fingerprints of each doll, utilizing letters such as an"O", a "U" and an inverted "U" with such code letters being provided on each of the fingers and thumb of the doll in the position which would be for the fingerprints of a real person.

  • Patent number: 4709307
Abstract: An article of clothing includes a shell forming an outer layer of the article, a liner disposed generally inside the shell and forming an inner layer of the article, and a set of light-emitting diodes or the like forming a predetermined pattern on the exterior of the article of clothing. The set of light-emitting diodes is mounted on a substrate. A power source is provided for illuminating the diodes, as is a control circuit for controlling the energization of the diodes. There is a pocket in the article of clothing in which the power source is removably disposed. A cable electrically connects the diodes and the power source, which cable is disposed generally between the shell and the liner so as to be hidden from view and protected. An overlay has imprinted thereon a pattern corresponding to the predetermined pattern of the diodes. The overlay has openings therethrough through which the diodes extend, and the overlay is secured to the shell.

  • Patent number: 4650219
Abstract: A system is described that facilitates notification of the parents of a lost child, while preventing strangers from learning the name of the child or parents. The system includes an alphanumeric identification marking (I.D. marking) on an item of clothing of a particular child, the I.D. marking being unique to the particular child but not containing the child's name. An alert marking, similar to alert markings on other children's clothing that have an I.D. marking, alerts authorities who find a lost child that an I.D. marking is present and indicates where it is located, such as hidden within a pocket. Authorities finding the child, and by the alert marking are directed to the I.D. marking, are able to contact a central station which can notify the parents of the child that the child has been found. The I.D. marking can be generated from a credit card number of a parent by a formula that permits knowledge of the I.D.
