Abstract: An applicator for volatile, highly viscous fluids has the following features:Protruding into the mouth of a pressure-sensitive, expandable tank containing a fluid solution, there is a narrow diameter brush point pipe, and, around the outer circumference of the brush point pipe, thrusting out beyond its end, there is a tubular brush point. This is the main body. Set atop the main body is a cap which covers the brush point. The interior of this cap is provided with a solvent receptacle. When the cap is closed over the main body, there are provided within the cap a vapor space which is filled with vaporized solvent from the solvent receptacle, and a columnar plug which dovetails within the brush point pipe after passing through the hollow part of the brush point, which is inserted into the vapor space.

Abstract: A cosmetic liquid applicator having a tubular shaft, a rotary knob at a rear end of the shaft and a piston axially slidable in the shaft upon rotation of the rotary knob. A nib, mounting to a forward end of the tubular shaft, has a passage communicating with a liquid chamber. A plurality of radially extending pojections are provided so that they are gradually reduced in diameter in the forward direction. A discharge hole is communicated with the passage, and a slot extends forwardly and rearwardly from the discharge hole in opposite directions of and transverse to the projections.

Abstract: An elongated housing structure is provided for accommodating a toothbrush head at one of its ends, and for insertion of a tube of toothpaste through the other of its ends. A rotating pin is provided to roll the bottom end of the toothpaste tube, thereby to dispense the toothpaste, and to move forwardly of the housing as the tube becomes smaller and smaller when the toothpaste is dispensed. The forward motion of the pin is accommodated by an elongated slot defined by the housing. A further structural provision is made in order to selectively move the top of the toothpaste tube into and out of position with respect to the bristles of the toothbrush, by means of a knurled knob and depending collar or neck holder movable in a second slot defined by the housing. The toothbrush head is movably connected to the front of the housing, so that the bristles can be moved between a paste-loading position and a brushing position. A gripping surface is also defined by the housing.

Abstract: A squeezeable container for holding and dispensing decontaminating powder is disclosed. The squeezeable container comprises a brush assembly and gripping means. The brush assembly is attached to the top section of the container in a screw-like manner, and comprises a brush formed of bristles which have a portion that is heat set so as to be held together in a semi-rigid manner. The bristles are arranged to form a reservoir within the brush assembly. The reservoir has an exit section closed off by the semi-rigid bristles, and an entrance section closed off by a plug member. The gripping means has a first end attached to the plug member and a second end extending out of the semi-rigid bristles. The pulling of the gripping means removes the plug from the dispenser and opens the brush reservoir. A squeezing action of the container puffs the powder within the container into the brush reservoir, and movement of brush dispenses the powder over any designed contaminated area.

Abstract: A golf equipment brush is provided for ease of transport and manual manipulation by individuals for the cleaning of golf clubs and associated golfing accessories to include a brush head mounted within a housing in a separable orientation relative to one another. The housing is arranged for selective torso or equipment support by directing a loop relative to the housing, and the brush including a matrix of bristle tufts mounted to a floor of the brush head. A first embodiment of the invention includes the brush head arranged for a snap-fit interconnection within the housing along a floor thereof, with a second embodiment including a spring-biased interconnection of the brush relative to the housing. A further embodiment of the invention includes the brush head pivotally mounted relative to the housing for selective release therefrom for ease of manual manipulation of the brush in use.

Abstract: A dispenser for a container of pipe sealant and the like comprising a dispensing closure for preventing the lateral spread of a compound contained by the container as it is dispensed and having a bristle assembly which prevents removal of the compound after it has been deposited and spread between the threads of a pipe.

Abstract: A dispensing pen includes a cylindrical body formed with a conically tapered forward end, with the forward end including a spherical or brush applicator. The cylindrical body includes an end cap threadedly mounted thereon, with the end cap housing a piston, with the piston biased within the cylindrical body to effect pressurizing of a fluid reservoir contained within the cylindrical body to direct such fluid through the applicator brush or spherical member of the applicator. The pressurizing piston mounted within the end cap includes a biasing means and a regulator to maintain pressurizing of the fluid, wherein alternatively, the piston includes a piston body that is externally threaded mounted within an internally threaded interior wall of the end cap to effect pressurizing of the reservoir.

Abstract: An apparatus wherein an elongate cylindrical housing mounts a first and second cylindrical cap respectively at opposed terminal ends of the housing. The housing includes as matrix of wire brushes orthogonally mounted to each end of the housing, with a first end including a projection for positioning within a side mount terminal battery, with the second end providing a cylindrical cavity for receiving a terminal for securement to the associated side mount battery. A modification of the invention includes a central reservoir receiving a cleaning solution that is selectively directed through each terminal end of the housing for enhanced cleaning of the associated battery and connector.

Abstract: The invention provides a unit for cleaning, brushing, scouring, polishing and the like, comprising a handle terminating with a head, the head having a cleaning body extending from a surface thereof and a throughgoing aperture, and the unit further comprising an external paste-containing holder having a paste-dispensing nozzle, the handle and the holder having means for interlocking engagement with the dispensing nozzle in engagement with the aperture, for release of paste from the holder via the head to the cleaning body.

Abstract: A toothbrush and toothpaste dispenser unit comprising a brush head with a longitudinally extending toothpaste receiving and dispensing opening provided therein, and a disposable toothpaste receiver and dispenser cartridge which engages the brush head and connects to the opening in the brush head. A dispensing piston, and a drive screw are present with the cartridge while a drive member for the screw is present and it includes a one way rotary drive means. The cartridge has an outer sleeve which forms a handle for the dispenser unit. The unit has a single wall thickness, i.e. the outer sleeve of the cartridge, in the cartridge portion of the unit.

Abstract: A portable dental care unit is disclosed, including an upper piece and a lower piece. The upper piece has a head portion and bristles which are attached to, and extend generally laterally from the head portion. A base of the upper piece is selectively attached to the lower piece such that the lower piece forms a handle for the toothbrush apparatus. An intermediate portion interconnects the head portion and the base portion and includes a recessed region formed below the bristles. The lower piece has a receptacle for accommodating a first dentifrice therein. A container is received by the recessed region for holding a second dentifrice therein. A closure is selectively engaged with the toothbrush apparatus for provisionally enclosing at least the head portion and the bristles of the upper piece between uses.

Abstract: A user-controlled manually-actuatable pumpable dispenser for hydraulically-driven discharge of a stored fluid incorporates a flexible wall or web-like barrier capable of containing a highly volatile fluid while accomodating mechanical and hydraulic dispenser-actuating deformations for initiating or effecting a discharge of the stored fluid. The barrier is formed of a relatively thin wall of polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) material having a predetermined thickness selected so as to render the barrier sufficiently flexible for accomodating deformations in accordance with which a discharge of fluid from the dispenser is hydraulically effected.

Abstract: The dispenser for applying lacquer, in particular nail-polish comprises a supply chamber, a brush and a dosing device for the adjustment of a flow speed and consequently the thickness of the layer. The brush is, when not used, surrounded by a sponge containing a cleaning fluid, in order to prevent the brush from drying out and getting sticky. The lacquer or nail-polish is hermetically enclosed, so that it remains liquid and does not change its color or viscosity.

Abstract: A hand-held, manually-actuated dispenser for selective discharge of a stored fluid includes a discharge outlet and a reciprocatable actuating member movable between a first position normally closing the outlet and a second position opening the outlet to enable a discharge of stored fluid. The actuating member carries an inadvertent-actuation locking element which is automatically engageable with an inwardly-displaceable portion of the dispenser housing. When an associated closure cap is seated about the discharge end of the dispenser during periods of nonuse of the device, the housing portion is inwardly-displaced by the cap into cooperative engagement with the locking element whereby movement of the actuating member out of its first, outlet-closing position and, accordingly, any release of stored fluid from within the dispenser interior are prevented.

Abstract: A one piece structure of a toothbrush is described with threads for attaching a toothpaste tube to the end of the handle. The handle is provided with an opening extending along the length of the handle with a diameter substantially equal to the opening from the toothpaste tube. The end of the handle with the bristles has, among the bristles, a plurality of openings with a total diameter of all openings substantially equal to the diameter of the handle opening as well as the toothpaste tube opening, so that toothpaste is extruded from the tube with substantially no increase in resistance.The end of the handle about the end with the toothpaste tube has an enlarged member with a flange therearound, so that a cover placed over the bristles is sealed against the flange, and a transparent cover placed over the toothpaste tube is sealed against the opposite surface of the flange. Several modifications are described for particular uses.

Abstract: The distributor and applicator device comprises a manual closing member including a plug (3) connected to the neck (2) of a container (1) and provided with a closing finger (9) leaving flowing apertures (8) free and controlling passage of a ring (14) leading to a distributor part (16) of a product contained in the container (1) and directed to an applicator member (24). A socket (10) is placed around the neck (2) and is mobile axially. The socket (10) includes a ring (14) for cooperating with the closing finger (9) and at least one knob (17) protruding through at least one aperture (18) of the distributor part (16) fixed to the container (1). The knob is axially guided by the at least one aperture (18) in which it slides for axially displacing the socket (10).

Abstract: A pocket or purse toothbrush has a reservoir of liquid dentifrice in the handle of the brush. The brush per se has an absorbent pad extending along the back, from a position near the reservoir to adjacent the brush bristles. A valve between the reservoir and the absorbent pad may be opened to saturate the pad with dentifrice, allowing tooth brushing without a supply of water and, if desired, in private even if away from home.

Abstract: A shoe polish applicator includes a hollow body having a plurality of internal walls defining a reservoir for shoe polish. The internal walls include a rearward internal sidewall having elliptical cross-sections about a rearward axis and a forward internal sidewall having circular cross-sections about a forward axis. The rearward and forward internal sidewalls are joined at a shoulder.

Abstract: An applicator device for a liquid, powder or pasty material includes a housing having a foil cartridge therein containing the liquid, powder or pasty material, and an ejector device is slidably mounted on the housing to provide for squeezing out the material from the foil cartridge for application at a desired site.

Abstract: A disposable liquid applicator includes a plastic tube with a tapered neck portion. A brush holder is disposed in the neck portion and includes bristles extending outwardly therefrom. A cap is integrally formed with the neck of the tube and encloses the bristles. The neck includes an annular reduced thickness portion surrounding the brush holder adjacent the cap which is removed by breaking the cap at the reduced thickness portion. The brush holder covers the reduced thickness portion and prevents leakage therefrom during storage.

Abstract: A fluid dispensing container with brush type applicator. The container having an annular flange formed thereon. An applicator/brush is detachably coupled to the container by mating with the annular flange of the container. The applicator/brush has at least one opening thereto. A dispensing cap with at least one opening is affixed to at least one opening of the container in fluid communication therewith and positioned internal to the applicator/brush, so that when the dispensing cap is opened, the fluid may pass from at least one opening of the container through the dispensing cap and at least one opening in the applicator/brush.

Abstract: A manually grippable cleaner (10) is described which is suitable for cleaning golf clubs (17). The cleaner consists of a rectangular ring (12) which has internal bristles (22 and 24) and into which the head (66) of a club may be inserted. A cranked handle (30) carries the ring. Thus with the club head in the ring, relative reciprocation between the ring and the club head will cause the club head to be cleaned by the bristles. A outside set of bristles (28) is provided for cleaning "woods". The handle is hollow and comprises a chamber (33) for cleaning fluid. A pump (34) pumps the fluid to a nozzle (39) to be sprayed on to the club face.

Abstract: The invention is a liquid applicator having an integral brush means connected to a container for the liquid by a variable flow resistance liquid flow passage. The applicator has a movable sleeve which surrounds the brush and engages the cap to seal the brush in the environment of the liquid.

Abstract: A manually-operated dispenser for user-controlled discharge of an internally-stored fluid includes a variable length assembly normally driven to its maximum longitudinal extension for fluid-tightly closing a fluid discharge opening and a vent opening disposed at opposite ends of an elongated housing, a piston bounding an end of an internal fluid reservoir and operatively movable along the housing for volumetrically reducing the reservoir and for driving stored fluid toward and through the discharge opening, and an actuator assembly manually operable by the user for causing controlled foreshortening of the variable length assembly whereby the fluid discharge and vent openings are concurrently opened permitting the forced discharge of a correspondingly controlled volume of stored fluid.

The writing instrument is internally provided with a tubular ink-cartridge containing ink and a liquid retainer impregnated with liquid whose vapor pressure is higher than that of the liquid in the ink in the ink-cartridge, provided in an inner space of the holder so as to control evaporation of ink from the cartridge by the use of vapor evaporating from the impregnated retainer.

Abstract: A liquid applicator for applying a liquid to a surface such as fingernails. The applicator includes a squeezable container which holds the liquid and includes an open neck. A brush holder supports a hollow brush in the open neck. A sleeve in the open neck is displaceable by the container cap between a first position where the brush is exposed for use and a second position where the cap is sealed against the sleeve to prevent brush dry-out.

Abstract: A collapsible toothbrush as disclosed having three telescopically mounted portions defining the handle, all of which portions are hollow so as to receive in their collapsed condition a tube of toothpaste. The brush in its collapsed condition is preferably overwrapped with a small paper cup, and a cover is provided for the bristles. The entire assembly is shrink wrapped to permit dispensing from conventional vending machines.

Abstract: An applicator, especially for applying nail varnish, is associated with a closing cap with a reservoir for keeping the coating member moist. Located in the closing cap is a closing element which, when the closing cap is pulled off the applicator, closes the space containing the reservoir in order to prevent the reservoir from drying out.

Abstract: The container is provided with an outlet opening associated with a dispensing head (5) including an ejection duct (21-26) disposed in the axis of the outlet opening of the container, and a nozzle (28) forming an angle with the ejection duct, an applicator (8) being disposed at the free end of the nozzle (28). This applicator (8) includes on the one hand a cylindrical sleeve (31) cooperating with the free end of the nozzle (28) and on the other hand a base plate (29) joined by the cylindrical sleeve and which includes bristles (30) on its face opposite the cylindrical sleeve (31). The projection (7), a movable part of the dispensing head, includes on its top wall a device (17) for retaining the cylindrical sleeve (31) in a position in which its axis is substantially parallel to that of the outlet opening, so that a guard cap can be put into place on the dispensing zone of the container (1).

Abstract: A disposable toothbrush comprises a toothbrush body having bristles, and a toothbrush back containing a dose of toothpaste. The toothpaste is isolated from the bristles by a protective film. A safety cap retains the toothbrush back separate from the toothbrugh body. Removal of the cap allows the back to approach the body, which causes tearing of the protective film and distribution of the toothpaste onto the bristles.

Abstract: A dispenser for dispensing a suitable material comprising a tubular casing having a reduced diameter portion at its one end portion, a nib fixed to an open end of the one end portion of the tubular casing, an elongated cap for protecting the nib and a sleeve slidably mounted on the reduced diameter portion of the tubular casing. The sleeve is slidable longitudinally along the reduced diameter portion, and has a first shoulder on its outer surface. The elongated cap has an open end for fitting to the tubular casing to enclose and protect the nib, and a second shoulder on an inner surface of the open end to abut against the first shoulder when the cap is moved to fit to the tubular casing.

Abstract: There is provided an attachment having a pot-shaped bottom element and a sealing cap adapted to be arranged on the neck of tubes, bottles or the like. The top side of the ceiling of the bottom element, which is supported by the side wall of the pot-shaped bottom element, is fitted with brush-like bristles which are covered by the sealing cap. The central region of the bottom element ceiling is provided with an orifice into which projects a tongue extending from the bottom side of the sealing cap, the free end of the tongue entering the orifice in the ceiling of the bottom part and sealing the same in the manner of a plug.

Abstract: An improved applicator bottle for dispensing polish, base or top coats for nails or the like automatically wherein the brush of the bottle is sealed off from the atmosphere so that it cannot dry out and the cap of the bottle can be used as an extension of the bottle to provide a handle.

Abstract: An indicating cap for a writing instrument has an insert with a blind passage adapted to fit over the tip of e.g. a felt or fiber tip pen or marker and axially movable in a sleeve forming a cap between two limiting positions. One of these positions is defined by a spring detent shoulder against which a shoulder of the insert abuts when the cap is withdrawn from the writing implement. When the cap is thrust properly onto the writing implement the insert is pressed into its second position in which a pin of appropriate color is visible through an end of the sleeve where the projecting pin can be protected by a hood or basket.

Abstract: A toothbrush includes an elongated shank suitable for mounting onto a toothpaste container at a first end thereof and having a brush head at a second end. A plurality of bristles are carried by the brush head and extend outwardly from an upper surface thereof. A longitudinal passageway extends from the first end of the shank, through the shank, and exits in an opening within the bristles of the brush head. A slide mechanism is mounted in an elongated channel in the upper surface of the shank and is in slidable engagement therewith. The slide extends along the shank and into the brush head and has a first end disposed within the bristles which is formed in a plug complementary with the opening. The slide can be moved from a first position in which the plug completely covers the opening to a second position in which the opening is uncovered.

Abstract: A fountain brush includes a reservoir serving as a handle. A one-piece valve body fixed in the neck of the reservoir contains a gravity-activated applicator brush holder which is shiftable within the valve body between liquid applying and non-applying positions. Valve elements on the opposite ends of the brush holder engage cooperative seats of the one-piece valve body in the liquid applying and non-applying positions of the brush holder.

Abstract: Disclosed is a package for dispensing flowable materials such as powders and liquids, particularly those intended for cosmetic use. A cover (30) fits snugly against chamber wall (12) and overlies dispensing opening (14). Removal of the cover draws a measured quantity of flowable product (50) through conduit (40) and out of the dispensing opening. A vent opening (22) through the chamber wall is preferably provided to permit the interior of the chamber to adjust to atmospheric pressure. And, a cover relief opening (32) is preferably provided to permit easy replacement of the cover and control of the quantity of product dispensed.

Abstract: A disposable toothbrush containing dentifrice with enclosure cap. The toothbrush main body has a hollow squeezable handle with dentifrice therein. A passage leads from the handle to an outlet on the brush head with the dentifrice flowing outwardly from the head between the opposite ends of the bristles. A cap removably mounted to the brush head encloses the bristles and has a plug sealingly projectable into the dentifrice outlet.

Abstract: An improved applicator bottle for dispensing polish, base of top coats for nails or the like automatically wherein the brush of the bottle is sealed off from the atmosphere so that it cannot dry out and the cap of the bottle can be used as an extension of the bottle to provide a handle.

Abstract: The toothbrush has an exterior structure resembling a traditional fountain pen case including a cylindrical end-cap cover which is removable to reveal the brush bristles. The device includes a main cylindrical body shaft having a cross section at the bristle end which is reduced to substantially a minor segment of a circle, and having toothbrush bristles extending transversely and confined within the circular profile of the transverse section of the cylindrical body shaft so that the end cap cover covers the bristles without interference when placed over the bristle end of the body shaft.

Abstract: A brush assembly comprising a brush portion and a cartridge portion, the brush portion comprising an elongated housing open at a first end thereof, a bristle-retaining wall at a second end thereof, the brush portion housing having therein first connecting structure for releasably connecting the brush portion to the cartridge portion, the cartridge portion comprising a cartridge housing adapted to be inserted in the brush portion by way of the open first end of the brush portion, the cartridge housing defining a chamber adapted to retain a fluid, second connecting structure disposed on the cartridge portion for releasable connection to the first connecting structure, and actuator and valve structure adapted to facilitate movement of the fluid in selected amounts from the cartridge to the bristles of the brush portion.

Abstract: A hair grooming device includes a brush head surrounded by a rotatable cover member having a lateral opening through which bristles on the brush head are exposable. A handle for the brush head includes a reservoir for a liquid treating agent and communicates through a passage in the brush head with small dispensing holes spaced among the bristles. The cover member is rotatable between a bristle exposed position in which the bristles are exposed through the lateral opening, and a bristle storage position in which the bristles are concealed within the cover member. The cover member has comb teeth thereon adjacent the lateral opening, and seals are provided between the brush head and cover member to prevent leakage of treating agent from the bristles in the bristle storage position of the cover member.

Abstract: Finger print dispensing apparatus includes a compact manually operated portable unit. The unit includes a detachable brush for spreading the powder dispensed, a squeezable detachable container for holding the powder and a nozzle arrangement for delivering the powder to the brush when the container is squeezed. An extendible and retractable sleeve is provided to either house and shape the brush during non use or to expose the brush during use. Moisture proof means are provided on the sleeve to house the brush and keep the powder in the container dry when the apparatus is not in use.

Abstract: In a vat-like receptacle of plastic material air-tightly closed by a draw-off-strip a bristle head and a predetermined quantity of tooth-paste are provided. After opening the receptacle the bristle head can be fastened at a handle and the tooth-brush is ready for use provided with the necessary amount of tooth-paste in the region of the bristles. The bristle head is a throw-away article.

Abstract: A pen shaped device includes a brush-type applicating tip for dispensing and applying liquid that is stored in an integral fountain reservoir bag. The brush is permanently mounted outside the reservoir, receiving liquid through a hollow tube or other narrow passage. A check valve is provided within the device to prevent leakage during storage but the valve allows liquid to pass from the reservoir to the brush under the impetus of semi-automatic or manual finger-operable feed control. The brush is kept moist during storage by being capped in an air-tight enclosure which receives vapor of the liquid through a vapor-permeable membrane communicating with the reservoir.
