Abstract: A portable, hand held condiment dispenser for dispensing condiments onto items of food includes a container for holding a condiment, a valve controlling the flow of condiment from the container, and a releasably attached dispensing head, permitting use of different types of dispensing heads. The container includes a removable filling cap permitting the container to be refilled with a condiment. Alternatively, the container can be a pliant tube which can be squeezed in order to discharge the condiment from the container.

Abstract: A brush, in particular a toothbrush, comprises a head (20) including a plurality of bristles (24) thereon and having at least one opening (26) therein feeding to the bristles (24), a container (2) of paste (4) connected to the head (20), and a control member (32, 50) within the brush movable between a first position in which the or each opening (26) in the head (20) is closed thereby, and a second position in which the or each opening (26) is open, the movement of the control member (32, 50) from the first position to the second position resulting in flow of paste (4) from the container (2) through the or each opening (26) in the head (20) and onto the bristles (24) of the brush.

Abstract: A toothbrush system with an internal water delivery system is disclosed. A hollow cylindrical adapter is removably positionable on a shower between the water outlet line and the shower head. The adapter has an inlet end with threads for coupling to the water outlet line bringing water to the shower head. It also has an outlet end with threads for coupling to the shower head. In addition, the adaptor has a radial aperture with a threaded extension. A toothbrush has a far end with outwardly extending bristles and a near end with a rectilinear-shaped female connector. It also has at least one line extending along the length thereof with a plurality of apertures adjacent to the bristles at the terminal ends of the lines for the dissemination of water from the lines and through the apertures. A hose has an upper end with a fitting formed with threads for coupling with the threads of the nipple of the adapter. It also has a lower end for receiving the near end of the toothbrush.

Abstract: A toothcare assembly includes a handle having a dental floss dispensing assembly on one end and tooth brushing bristles mounted thereon adjacent to a head end. A chamber for storing toothpaste is defined in the head end, and dispensing holes connect the chamber to the surface of the head adjacent to the bristles. A flexible diaphragm is mounted on the head adjacent to the chamber and, when pressed, forces toothpaste through the dispensing holes into contact with the bristles. A chamber closing element is slidably mounted on the head to cover the dispensing holes in the chamber to prevent toothpaste from moving through the dispensing holes, and is slidably moved out of hole-covering position when it is desired to dispense toothpaste.

Abstract: A lead dispensing storage container that can be opened or closed by a single hand. The container body has a lead case formed therein, and a lead outlet allowing release of leads one by one. A gate member mounted in the container body can be moved to open or close lead paths between the lead case and lead outlet. An elastic arm portion forces the gate member to move in direction to close the lead paths. The number of parts is reduced, and supplying leads can be made easier by a case that has a lead supply opening projecting from the tip thereof. A leading end of the case has an inclined slope toward the lead supply opening therein, and a chuck containing leads having a knocking portion that is pressed into the case so that it can be opened by the knocking portion being pushed to press an opening actuator toward the inclined slope or is closed by an elastic force as the opening actuator is released.

Abstract: A fountain toothbrush has in its handle a toothpaste reservoir constantly pressurized by a charge of actuator gas acting through a cup-like piston disposed at the upstream end of the reservoir. The gas pressure pushes the piston and toothpaste downstream while resiliently urging the piston sidewall against the reservoir boundary wall to forwardly extrude toothpaste adjacent the boundary wall. A valve for selectively passing toothpaste from the reservoir to the brush head includes an apertured gate and a structurally separate actuator for translating the gate in a valve chamber in opposition to a bias spring. Separating the gate from the actuator permits the gate to be positively sealed against the chamber outlet by the toothpaste in the closed valve position. A lengthwise segment of the gate has a reduced thickness dimension so as not to fill the upstream side of the valve chamber, thereby avoiding the creation of a partial vacuum that would otherwise hold the gate in its open position.

Abstract: An improved toothbrush with a teeth cleansing substance dispensing system is provided, which consists of a mechanism in cooperation with a compartment in an enlarged handle, which will dispense some teeth cleansing substance through a channel in a neck and head and out through at least one lateral passageway into bristle groups, so that the bristle groups can clean teeth. An apparatus is also in cooperation with the channel in the head and neck for sealing the at least one lateral passageway, when not in use. This stops the flow of the teeth cleansing substance and prevents germs, bacteria, water and other foreign elements from contaminating the teeth cleansing substance left in the channel and the compartment.

Abstract: A water squirt toothbrush is provided which consists of a handle having a longitudinally extending fluid chamber. A head is attached to a first end of the handle having a longitudinally extending fluid channel connected to the fluid chamber and a plurality of lateral fluid passageways extending inwardly from one face and terminating in the fluid channel. A plurality of bristles extend outwardly from the one face of the head. A mechanism in cooperation with the fluid chamber of the handle and the fluid channel in the head is for squirting water through the lateral fluid passageways past the bristles to rinse off teeth being brushed by the bristles.

Abstract: A replaceable liquid application implement is attached to a hand-manipulated fluid reservoir and a thumb-activated plate is disposed between the application implement and the reservoir for selectively controlling the flow of fluid.

Abstract: A cleansing and stimulating brush that doubles as a backscratcher having sufficiently firm construction means approximating the function of human nails for scratching and stimulating one's skin, combined with brush means comprising slender stalklike projections for stimulating and cleansing the skin, and including interspersing smooth protuberance means approximating the soft pads of one's finger tips for pleasant touch sensations. This device further includes a soap applicator means to which soap can be applied for further application to the skin. The device can be adapted to contain and dispense liquid soap.

A toothbrush, a small tube of toothpaste, a napkin and a piece of dental floss are sealed in the small package so that a person can purchase, use and then dispose the tooth cleaning kit.

Abstract: A toothbrush which dispenses paste has a hollow stem with a bristled head, open bottom and discharge aperture at the bristled head. A cartridge for containing the paste is attachable to the open bottom. A hollow pump piston is disposed in the hollow stem and is slidable between an open and closed position. A button extends through the stem and engages with the pump piston such that when the button is pressed, the pump piston simultaneously moves to the open position and dispenses paste and when the button is released, the pump piece simultaneously moves to the closed position and seals the toothpaste inside the toothbrush.

Abstract: A dentifrice dispensing toothbrush is described which locks itself to prevent further pumping of dentifrice material when its replaceable supply cartridge is empty. The self locking mechanism eliminates the formation of voids in the material and consequent pump failure when the spent cartridge is replaced with a new one and material pumped therefrom. The toothbrush also includes a detachable brush head which is slidable to various positions to enhance cleaning after it is used.

Abstract: A toothbrush having a self-contained supply of cleaning liquid. Multiple miniature liquid flow openings are formed in the brush holder portion of the toothbrush, such that the cleaning liquid is distributed onto essentially all of the brush clusters. In one form of the invention liquid flow is restricted by porous sponge elements extending across the flow openings. In another form of the invention the multiple flow openings are of pinhole size in order to restrict the liquid flow.

The knob is axially guided by the at least one aperture (18) in which it slides for axially displacing the socket (10).

Abstract: A brush for home use such as washing cars and patios. The brush includes a body having a plurality of dependent bristles and defining a first compartment for a receiving soap and a second compartment for receiving rinse water. The body also includes an elongate tube partially defining each of the compartments. The first compartment has an outlet for providing soapy water to the bristles while the second compartment has an outlet for providing rinse water. A spool valve is slidable back and forth in the tube with the valve having a tubular wall defining an axial bore open to the conduit and an opening extending through the wall for communicating water to either of the compartments. Seals are carried by the spool valves flanking the opening to provide watertight seals between the valve and the tube. The brush also includes a thumb switch for reciprocating the valve along a linear path among a soap position, a rinse position, and an off position where water is supplied to neither of the compartments.

An element slidably disposed in the second member has openings which can be moved into alignment with the plate and member openings or which can be moved out of such alignment. A brush having parallel bristles with powder applying tips is disposed in the third member with the tips disposed adjacent the second member. The brush and third member have manually operated cooperating elements for establishing a first position at which the bristles extend almost entirely out of the third member and a second position at which the bristles are disposed within the third member.

A second elongated hollow cylindrical member has a third closed end and an opposite open fourth end. The third end has an exposed face with a transverse slot therein. The slot has a hole. The second and third ends are rotatably engaged. An elongated member is slidable in the slot and has a chamber and a transversely disposed prong. The prong rides in the groove and is moved back and forth in the slot as the first and second members are rotated relatively to each other. These members have a first rotational position at which the chamber and opening are aligned and a second rotational position at which the hole and opening are aligned.
