The lateral wall includes an assembly of an inner jacket including an inner tubular part, of area cross-section Si and thickness Ec, and an outer body including an outer tubular part of area cross-section Se>Si and thickness Ei, said thicknesses Ec and Ei being taken typically below 2 mm, so as to be able to manufacture the dispenser by high throughput moulding and without dimensional distortion of the inner jacket and of the outer body of plastic material, and in such a way that the outer body is able to have a cross-section different from that of the inner jacket.

The intermediate cylindrical tube extends downward beyond respective lower ends of the inner and outer cylindrical tubes and has a bottom covering the respective lower ends of these tubes.

The ribs on the inner wall of the cam skirt extend at an angle relative to a centerline of said dispenser, and preferably are angled the same direction as the internal helical tracks of the cam sleeve. There are from three to seven, preferably, five or six of said ribs located equidistantly from each other around said inner wall of said cam skirt. The ribs may be connected with each other by webs or separated by slots.

The product reservoir is generally hollow and has a tip extending from an end of the reservoir opposite the body. The reservoir has a means for discharging product contained therein through an orifice in said tip. The tip is made of a clear material that permits the user to view the color of the product contained therein. The tip is also tapered and retains its tapered shape as lip product is applied to a user's lips.

The protective sleeve is adapted to fit into this annular space. The collar is rotatably mounted on the base and has a helical track adapted to engage a corresponding lug on the sleeve. When the collar is rotated, the sleeve is propelled upwardly to surround and protect the cosmetic. When rotated in the other direction, the collar causes the sleeve to be retracted to allow for application of the cosmetic. The protective sleeve may be transparent so that the color shade of the lipstick is evident when the sleeve is in the upwardly extended position surrounding the lipstick.

The removed top wall is discarded and the screw turned to raise a portion above the sidewalls. The integrally molded top wall can be integrally molded with the barrel or it can be integrally molded to an adaptor which fits onto the top of the barrel to provide a compound curved top edge for comfort in applying the cosmetic to a skin surface. In this latter embodiment the top wall has a peripheral weakened area whereby the top wall is removed by severing this top wall at the peripheral weakened area. Abstract: A lipstick dispenser uses the normally decorative A-shell as a functional element by providing a plurality of longitudinal splines in the interior of the A-shell. The splines fit into notches in an elevator cup to keep the elevator in fixed relationship to the A-shell. A propel/retract mechanism is provided by lugs extending from the elevator that track in helical tracks in a base that is secured together with the A-shell. Abstract: A cosmetic pencil cartridge is provided with a cap member having a guiding hole formed therethrough and a holder movably mounted into the cap member. In the cosmetic pencil cartridge, a stopping wall is formed within a mid portion of the cap member, an enlarged diameter portion being formed in front of the stopping wall, the holder having a pair of hook receiving holes formed through the leading portion of the holder. An auxiliary holder has a mass receiving portion for receiving a cosmetic mass at is one side, and a pair of hooks protruding from at the other side thereof, with the pair of hooks being resiliently engaged into the hook receiving holes, respectively.

Abstract: A sealed cosmetic container provides an airtight receptacle for a cosmetic stick in a dispenser with a slim appearance. The dispenser includes a nose piece with a movable elevator which operates by engagement between screw threading on a stem under the elevator cup and on a cam piece or between a lug under the elevator cup and helical tracks on a cam piece. The cam piece fits into the lower end of the nose piece and the parts are snapped together, with a bead inside the nose piece tightly engaging a lip or bead on the outside of the cam piece, to provide a seal between the two parts to prevent premature drying out of a cosmetic stick. The engaged beads also provide an enhanced swivel torque.

Abstract: A dispenser and applicator for liquid cosmetic material, such as liquid, semiliquid or pasty lip or eye cosmetic products, or for microencapsulated liquid products, including a rigid, axially elongated reservoir tube for holding the cosmetic material, a manually operable driver assembly for exerting pressure on the material within the tube, and an applicator tip having a planar woven mesh screen extending across an outlet end opening and molded in the applicator tip. The driver assembly forces the contained material forwardly through the screen, which the user applies to the lip or eye region of the face, or other selected skin area. In the case of a microencapsulated product, the microcapsules rupture when they are pressed against the mesh, releasing their contents.

Abstract: To make full use of a rod-like glue contained in a cylindrical dispenser main body of a glue dispenser to its final portion, a spiral member of a rotary operator element of the glue dispenser has a spiral outer diameter which is set to be equal to or larger than 30% and equal to or smaller than 80% of the outer diameter of rod-like glue, and a spiral pitch which is set to be equal to or larger than 50% and equal to or smaller than 300% of the spiral outer diameter. The spiral member is directly screwed to the rod-like glue integrally attached to a slider coupled with a bottom portion of the glue by elastic retaining pieces by which it is not necessary to form a top face of the slider in a recessed shape. The rod-like glue can be extracted and retracted from and to a dispenser main body by moving up and down the glue by rotating the rotary operator element.
