Abstract: A writing implement having a body formed by a pair of leaves each having a longitudinally extending bore therein, with the bores in the two leaves coaxial and the two leaves interengaged in the manner of a hinge, and a writing member, such as a pencil lead or ball-point pen with an ink reservoir, extending through the coaxial bores in the two members, the two leaves being relatively pivotable about the axis of the coaxial bores therein between a storage configuration in which the leaves lie substantially in the same plane and a writing configuration in which the planes of the two leaves are at an acute angle to one another. The writing member is preferably secured to an axially movable plunger in the coaxial bores, which plunger has grooves co-operating with projections from the leaves such that a writing tip of the writing member is caused to project from one end of the leaves upon movement of the leaves from the storage to the writing configuration.
Abstract: The invention contemplates a special-purpose lipstick or the like container of the propel-repel swivel variety wherein an unused charge of cosmetic substance, such as a lipstick pomade, (a) is necessarily positioned and retained in a sufficiently elevated position for display purposes prior to purchase and prior to any initial use, (b) is propellable by a first cam system from the display position to a position of maximum pomade projection upon first actuation, (c) is then automatically transferable from the first to a second cam system, and (d) is thereafter actuable only via the second cam system to provide selective propel-repel swivel-lipstick action over an extended propulsion range, said extended range including retraction to a full extent which is below the elevated display position.
Abstract: There is provided an inner cylindrical sleeve for use in lipstick containers, said sleeve have diametrically opposed slots which permit movement of an elevator cup containing the lipstick and retention of the cup in three fixed positions.
Abstract: A circular tubular cap and dummy cosmetic stick assembly in which the cap is transparent near the top and opaque near the bottom. The dummy cosmetic stick (e.g. lipstick) is maintained in place in the cap near its top by means of upwardly extending flexible tabs which form part of a tray that forms the base of the dummy cosmetic stick.
