Abstract: The invention provides a convenient, lightweight and streamlined connecting device for attaching a leader or tippet to a fly-fishing line. The Fly Line Connecting Device is configured with an expandable tubular lattice that allows for an in-line connection to the fly line. The connection device has an integral tubular lattice sized with an internal diameter that is slightly smaller that the fly line and when compressively displaced, operates to expand the internal diameter to allow insertion of the fly line. Once the fly line is fully inserted, the tubular lattice is allowed to contract and elastically constrict onto and thereby grip the semi-resilient surface of the fly line. When the fly line and leader line are placed in tension through the connecting device, the tubular lattice acts to constrict down on the fly-line to resist separation.

Abstract: A means for linearly connecting two non-circular pipes mainly includes a bar, upper and lower pads put around the bar, and a collar. The bar has two externally threaded ends adapted to screw into internally threaded holes preformed in the non-circular pipes. The upper and lower pads respectively have a cross section the same as that of a bore of the non-circular pipes, and are divided into an inner section and an outer section by a flange, such that the outer sections of said upper and said lower pads can be inserted into the pipes to synchronously rotate along with the pipes. The collar has cross section and outer diameter the same as that of the pipes and is initially put around the inner section of the upper pad, so that the collar can be downward moved to enclose the inner sections of the upper and the lower pads at the same time to confine them and accordingly the two pipes to a vertically aligned position.

  • Patent number: 6113304
Abstract: A coupling for a high pressure fluid seal assembly is shown and described. The coupling includes a first member having first and second opposite ends and capable of motion along a first axis extending between the first and second ends. The first member has an engagement portion positioned toward the first end having a rounded convex engagement surface. The coupling further includes a second member also having first and second opposite ends and capable of motion along a second axis extending between the first and second ends of the second member. A second engagement portion toward the second end of the second member has a substantially flat second engagement surface engaging the first engagement surface of the first member. The interface between the first and second engagement surfaces aligns motion of the first member along the first axis with motion of the second member along the second axis. The coupling accordingly reduces the tendency for either the first or second member to bend.

Abstract: A coupling member for interconnecting a hydraulic ejector cylinder, of injection molding equipment, with a mold ejector system to insure that the mold ejector system of the mold is properly activated and returned to its fully retracted position prior to commencing a further injection molding cycle. The coupling member comprises a first elongate stud which is releasably couplable to a second elongate stud to form the coupling member. The first elongate stud has a head, at one end thereof, and the second elongate stud has a stud recessed portion, at a mating end thereof, for at least partially receiving the head. A locking mechanism, carried by the second elongate stud, allows engagement and disengagement of the head from the stud recessed portion, when in a first position, and secures the head at least partially within the stud recessed portion, when in a second position.

The end cap includes an extrusion having a plank-receiving portion on one side and a rib profile on the other side for slidingly receiving scaffolding hooks. A reinforcing member is placed in the hollow core, extending between its walls, and surrounding the fastening device securing the end cap to the plank, to resist deformation of the plank by the compressive force of the fastening device. The end cap permits similar parts to be used for a wide variety of plank widths and allows for replacement of damaged hooks or the exchange of hook configurations, such as between "high" or "low" hooks.

  • Patent number: 5842810
Abstract: An adaptor for quickly connecting and releasing a T-shaped bar which holds a mop head and a mop handle to form a complete mop for use. The T-shaped bar has a horizontal base portion and a vertical threaded portion. The horizontal base portion is adapted to the mop head, while the vertical threaded portion is adapted to the adaptor. A mop handle or stick is then adapted to the rear of the adaptor. The adaptor has a spring biased pawl which is pivotally mounted thereon, such that when the tip of the pawl is engaged with the vertical threaded portion of the T-shaped bar by the spring, it locks the movement of the adaptor. However, by simply rotating the adaptor, the adaptor will be further threaded on the vertical threaded portion of the T-shaped bar to precisely adjust the tightness of the adaptor to the T-shaped bar. When the pawl is pressed against the spring, an individual can quickly release the adaptor from the vertical portion of the T-shaped bar, which in turn releases the mop head.
