  • Patent number: 5094580
Abstract: Two plates are connected to each other through brackets and fixing pins. The bracket includes a base disc portion, a semi-cylindrical wall portion and a pair of projections. The wall portion is perpendicular to the base disc portion. The projections radially outwardly extend from diametrically opposed portions of the wall portion. One of the two plates has an opening. The opening has concentrically connected smaller and larger circular portions and a pair of notches. The notches are positioned at diametrically opposed portions of the smaller circular portion and have the same thickness as that of the smaller circular portion. The smaller and larger circular portions and the notches are so sized as to receive the semi-cylindrical wall portion, the base disc portion and the projections, respectively. The thickness of the smaller circular portion is the same as the distance between the projection and the base disc portion. The thickness of the larger circular portion is the same as that of the base disc portion.

  • Patent number: 5094464
Abstract: A bowfishing arrow includes a nock assembly that is readily manipulated to allow for the quick removal and re-attachment to the rear end of the same or another arrow shaft. The nock assembly is provided with a forwardmost elongated plug insertable within a socket or bore within the rear of the arrow shaft while guidance and locking together of the components is achieved through a radial pin on the nock assembly plug engageable within a multi-directional slot arrangement. Short of achieving a fully assembled condition, a compressible member is engaged and thereafter produces a constant biasing force that in addition to assuring a rigid, rattle-free attachment, also maintains the components in a locked position. Removal of the nock assembly requires a positive forward displacement of the nock assembly relative the arrow shaft against the force of the compressible member prior to a compound angular and axial movement between the components.

  • Patent number: 5056953
Abstract: The invention relates to an assembly device for elements of the type comprising a framework and at least one spacer or panel extending transversely to said framework. In accordance with the invention, the device comprises two assembly bodies (100, 200) insertable in respective hollow bars constituting a portion of the framework, each assembly body having a central locking portion (101, 201) capable of penetrating into a hole in a panel to be supported, together with a peripheral portion (102, 202) capable of bearing against one of the faces of said panel; the central locking portions (101, 201) constitute a sloping ramp bayonet coupling, thereby enabling said bodies to be deformed radially outwards by relative rotation between the two assembly bodies, thus locking them automatically in the associated hollow bars. The invention is applicable, in particular, to pieces of furniture for provision in kit form, and for various types of element and/or hollow bar.

  • Patent number: 5015162
Abstract: A pumping system for a heavy oil and sand slurry from a downhole location to the ground surface includes a conventional screw type pump having a rotor and stator. At the bottom of the stator at the inlet thereto is mounted an attachment including a sleeve having a number of slots in the side surface into which the material feeds. Inside the sleeve is mounted a shaft having an auger flight along part of its length. A coupling at the upper end of the shaft connects to the lower end of the rotor and can be engaged and released by rotation of the rotor. The auger flight assists in forming the materials including any excess sand into a suitable slurry for feeding to the inlet of the pump. The auger feeds the material more effectively to the inlet thus maximizing efficiency of the pump. The device thus avoids sand blockages which are common problems in pumping systems of this type.

Under the urging of a spring, the position of the pawl is controlled from its fully extended, unlocked position to a pre-capture position where the pawl is oriented at approximately 45.degree. to an aperture within the pawl receptacle. Insertion of the pawl into the pawl receptacle forces the pawl to rotate an additional 45.degree. against the urging of the spring. After full insertion of the pawl into the receptacle, the pawl rotates back to its 45.degree. position where it is captured therein.

Abstract: A quick change tool holder having a cutting head on which a cutting member is attached for attachment to a shank. A lockpin/locknut arrangement provides for quick and safe removal of the cutting head from the shank. The lockpin has radial projections that rotate in response to manual rotation of the lockpin in and out of recesses contained in the opening of the locknut. The lockpin is secured within a bore in the cutting head and extends out of that bore into a bore in the shank in which bore the locknut is secured. A spring and plunger combination is located in the bore of the shank in order to urge the cutting head away from the shank when the radial projections are not within the recesses of the locknut. The shank and the cutting head have corresponding mating teeth in order to prevent rotation of the cutting head relative to the shank when the cutting head and shank are attached.

Abstract: The retractable swivel stud which extends to allow the attachment of a detachable gun sling swivel and strap to a firearm; and when force from the thumb or finger tip is exerted on the textured top surface of the spring-loaded stud, the stud retracts into the gunstock to a flush position and is retained there by means of symmetrically disposed slots, thus, leaving the stock free of protrusions, holes, or slots. The retracted position is retained by rotating the stud ninety-degrees in a clockwise direction, allowing the retaining device to enter detents in the sleeve's cylinder. The reversal of the foregoing procedure will extend the stud and retain it in the extended position. This movement is facilitated by the use of the spring which exerts pressure on the base of the stud at one end and the bottom of the hole in the stock at the other.
