While the leg portions for mounting and engagement portions are being inserted through, the mark is mounted in a recess portion of a pad cover. Thereafter, a spring formed in a substantially annular shape is mounted to the leg portions for mounting, and bent end portions of the spring are resiliently engaged with the engagement portions. Accordingly, as compared with prior structures utilizing heat-caulking and metal-caulking, the mark can be mounted to the pad cover simply and reliably, and costs and the space which is used can be reduced.Type: GrantFiled: November 29, 2000Date of Patent: January 21, 2003Assignee: Kabushiki Kaisha Tokai-Rika-Denki-SeisakushoInventors: Shoichi Ibe, Keisuke Imai

Patent number: 6406214Abstract: A system for assembling first and second parts of a device, including first and second coupling elements respectively associated with the first and second parts of the device. The coupling elements each include one or several contact zones arranged for spatially guiding the first and second parts during their relative displacement. These contact zones can consist in one or several sloping ramps arranged in circular manner on the internal face of the first or second corresponding part. The first and second coupling elements can be made without undercut and arranged to be subjected to a deformation during gradual clamping so as to provide a substantially normal resistance at the interface zone.Type: GrantFiled: July 13, 1999Date of Patent: June 18, 2002Assignee: Elyce InnovationInventor: Emmanuel Chéné

Patent number: 6368010Abstract: A fastening assembly is constituted by a plate-like member provided with a plurality of laterally extending projections which can be pushed into position between and then turned into engagement with respective slots formed in protrusions. In one aspect, at least one of the projections and/or at least one of the slots is adapted to give a wedging effect. In another aspect, the protrusions are located around an inner periphery of otherwise circular outline presented by a hollow member, and the projections are formed as arcuate sectors located around the plate-like member which presents an outer periphery of circular outline other than at recesses for receiving the respective protrusions.Type: GrantFiled: May 10, 1999Date of Patent: April 9, 2002Assignee: Starpoint Electrics LimitedInventors: Barry Allen Marchini, Andrew Thomas Black

Patent number: 6352384Abstract: A self-locking, twist & lock, system for attachment of an engine flexplate to a torque converter mounting plate including a plurality of lugs carried on the end surface of the torque converter mounting plate in a circumferentially spaced-apart relationship to one another. A snap-lock spring retainer is releasably secured to each of the lugs. The flexplate has a plurality of retainer receivers in a circumferentially spaced-apart relation identical to the placement of the lugs. Each of the retainer receivers defining a retainer bar segment and openings for receiving the lugs and spring retainers. Each spring retainer has a flexible head portion adapted to engage a corresponding retainer bar segment to secure the plates together.Type: GrantFiled: December 23, 1999Date of Patent: March 5, 2002Assignee: DaimlerChrysler CorporationInventors: Jason Frisch, Henry L Stewart, Jr., David E Spieth, Matthew Svoboda, David Rygiel, David A. Patent number: 6305653Abstract: A portable tripod support beneath a portable notebook computer for a seated computer user. The support comprises a platform with spider-like foldable support arms having relatively folded parallel and unfolded flat coplanar positions. Fasteners on the ends of the unfolded arms are releasably secured to the computer near its corners. The platform is releasably connected to a head of an adjustable-height folding tripod with the platform plane tipped toward the user for optimum access to the computer's keyboard. One tripod leg is pointed toward the user to minimize interference between the tripod legs and the users feet when the support is positioned in front of a user seated as an aircraft passenger. Each tripod leg has an upper main leg member and at least another telescoping member for leg length adjustment.Type: GrantFiled: October 15, 1997Date of Patent: October 23, 2001Inventors: A. Patent number: 6292992Abstract: In order to permit a fast, precisely centric fastening of rotating tools, such as drills or milling tools in clamping sleeves, of such clamping sleeves or of workpiece holding devices, such as clamping chucks 4 in spindles 1 of turning machines, respective holding surfaces 9/10, 23/24 are provided in the respective parts to be connected with one another with profiles 11, 12, 25, 26 which are coordinated with one another in pairs and which each have at least two wedges 13, 15. The wedges rise over imaginary cylindrical reference surfaces 14, 16 radially toward the outside and inside and each drop again steeply onto the reference surfaces and are offset in the circumferential direction by identical angles and have a joining gap in a joining position.Type: GrantFiled: February 17, 2000Date of Patent: September 25, 2001Inventor: Hans Kühl

Patent number: 6290423Abstract: A selectively closable and releasable connecting device for connecting a sports shoe and an item of sports equipment, has a baseplate for fixedly mounting to the item of sports equipment and on which the shoe sole can be supported and locked. The shoe being provided with lateral grooves for receiving a pair of locking elements of the connecting device, which lie rigidly and fixedly diametrically opposite each other on the baseplate with respect to a central pivot for the shoe. The device has a second pair of locking elements which likewise lie diametrically opposite one another and are rotatably connected to the baseplate via a gear mechanism having a driving element with a driver which protrudes, with respect to the supporting surface of the baseplate, for activation by the shoe, in the baseplate. The baseplate is further provided with a gear mechanism locking element which locks the gear mechanism in the closed position.Type: GrantFiled: November 23, 1998Date of Patent: September 18, 2001Assignee: MS Trade Handels GmbHInventor: Roland Jungkind

Patent number: 6276879Abstract: A replaceable cutting head is adapted for co-axial coupling thereof, along a coupling axis, with a tool shank in a self-clamping fashion. Both the cutting head and the tool shank have a mounting portion comprising a centering section and a positioning section. The centering section is formed with a peripheral centering surface which extends circumferentially with respect to the coupling axis and has a substantially conical shape at least at two portions thereof. The positioning section has at least two peripherally disposed and circumferentially extending and spaced apart positioning surfaces adapted for the provision of an axial support of the cutting head on the tool shank. Each positioning surface is inclined with respect to the coupling axis so that an axial distance therefrom to a broad end of the peripheral centering surface increases in a direction generally corresponding to the direction of cutting forces acting on the cutting edge during a cutting operation.Type: GrantFiled: August 12, 1999Date of Patent: August 21, 2001Assignee: Iscar Ltd.Inventor: Gil Hecht
