  • Patent number: 6217248
Abstract: An improved quick-change winding form assembly in which the support is divided into two parts, one part comprising a bearing collar, being connected to a bearing at the front of the flier assembly, and the other part comprising a mounting plate connected to the winding form or shroud. A pair of bayonet pins having enlarged heads is carried by the bearing collar and engages a pair of arcuate key slots extending through the mounting plate. The bayonet pins engage the arcuate key slots when the bearing collar is rotated relative to the mounting plate until a pair of spring biased balls mounted on the bearing collar enter recesses in the rear face of the mounting plate. Disassembly can be accomplished by simply rotating the winding form with its attached mounting plate in the opposite direction while holding the bearing collar fixed.

  • Patent number: 6179512
Abstract: A collet nut has a nut member for threaded engagement with threads on a collet holder. A sleeve member is rotationally coupled to the nut member in a first tightening mode of the collet nut. An annular ring is rotationally coupled to the sleeve member and rotationally coupled to the nut member in the first tightening mode. Facing ramped bearing surfaces are defined between opposing faces of the annular ring and the nut member and bearing devices, such as balls, are disposed between the opposite faces. In the first tightening mode, the nut member and the annular ring rotate as a unit. In a second tightening mode, the annular ring rotates relative to the nut member so that opposing high sections of the ramped bearing surfaces are brought rotationally closer thereby forcing the annular ring axially away from the nut member which imparts an additional axial force to a collet engaging member of the collet nut.

  • Patent number: 5348415
Abstract: A device for releasably locking, in a tubular first member (1), a second member (2) which is displaceable in the first member, has a slide (6) mounted on the first member. A driver pin (7) on the second member <2) extends through a slot (4) in the first member and through a hole in the slide to entrain the slide in the displacement of the second member. A spring (9) urges an operazing lever (8) rotatably mounted on the driver pin (7), towards the slide (6). The slide has cam means (10) cooperating in such a manner with the operating lever (8) that this lever, when being rotated from a free position to a locking position, is urged out from the slide against the action of the spring (9), such that the spring urges the driver pin (7) outwardly so as to resiliently urge the second member (2) against the first member (1) which is thus clamped between the slide (6) and the second member (2), whereby to lock the latter in its position of displacement.

  • Patent number: 5346349
Abstract: A fastening device comprises a hollow box-shaped container-guide (12) inside which a shaft-like fastening member is rotatably received. The fastening member is provided with at least one projecting, eccentric tongue (24), which is inclined with respect to the axis (a) of the shaft, or is preferably shaped according to a section of a helicoid. The fastening member is rotatable between a position in which the locking tongue (24) is contained inside the hollow container (12) and a position in which it projects from it to grip into the walls of a hole which receives the container, or against the wall of a panel. A head (22) of the fastening member (14) can be maneuvered from the outside and has two abutments which collaborate with abutments integral with a head (18) of the container in order to define the completely retracted position of the tongue or tongues and the completely extracted position of the same. The container can be realized in various forms.

  • Patent number: 5156630
Abstract: An ankle joint prosthesis comprises an upper part for attachment to an artificial leg and a lower part for attachment to an artificial foot, with the upper and lower parts rotatively coupled and capable of being fixed in a first position for walking, a second position for swimming, or a free-flexing mode for activities such as skiing or rowing. The upper and lower ankle parts have coaxial bores in which a cam part is mounted by means of two bushings. A pin-and-slot arrangement allows locking of the prosthesis in a desired position. Changing positions takes only seconds, and is effected by rotating a spring-loaded "D"-ring on the side of the ankle prosthesis by hand. In a preferred embodiment the ankle joint prosthesis is completely waterproof and precision machined from a lightweight, high-strength plastic.

Abstract: An assembly system for assembling panels. A CAP device is a generally round cylinder having on its outer surface four cam surfaces which have an expanding diameter in the circumferential direction. The CAP device can be inserted into a square tube with its large diameter part on the diagonal of the tube and then turned so as to engage the tube. A CLIP device has two tongues pivoting on the end of a partial cylindrical section so that a tube can be inserted into the partial cylindrical section and forces panels attached to the tongues over the back of the tube. A toothed projection on the partial cylindrical section engages a panel.

Abstract: A device for releasably securing together two elongate cylindrical members in predetermined transversely extending relation and in selected axial and rotational relation. The device includes a housing (12) having a first bore (30) in which one end of a cylindrical member (B) is received, and a second bore (14) extending through the housing transversely to the first bore. The second bore is sized to receive a second cylindrical member (A) with close sliding fit. The device includes a key latch (40) and ring cam (60) which are couplable with the housing and the second cylindrical member for urging the second cylindrical member into frictionable engagement with portions of the sidewall of the second bore so as to lock the second member in the housing in selected axial and rotational relation to the first member. The force with which the second cylindrical member frictionally engages the sidewall of the second bore varies as a function of the rotational position of the ring cam.

Abstract: A wall construction framework and stabilizer bar to stabilize a wall. A wall framework is comprised of a plurality of wall studs assembled in vertical relationship with major side members having linearly aligned openings. Each opening is preferably curved and has a length greater than the width. A linear stabilizing bar is installed in the openings of the wall stud. The bar has a cross sectional profile with a length greater than the width. The cross sectional width and length are less than the width and length of the wall stud openings so that the bar is easily inserted through the openings. The cross sectional length of the bar is greater than the width of the wall stud openings such that when the bar is inserted through the wall stud openings, it can be axially rotated to a point of being rigidly jammed and secured with respect to the wall stud openings to hold adjacent wall studs relatively rigid with respect to one another.

Positioned at the distal ends of each pole is a suction cup constructed of pliable material such as rubber, plastic or the like. On the inside end of the inner telescoping pole is positioned a disk of plastic or the like material. The disk is rotatably attached to the end of the inside pole by a screw or the like.
