  • Patent number: 6669395
Abstract: A connection structure of a lamp tube comprises a multi-sectional lamp tube having a front lamp tube and a rear lamp tube, a locking rod engaged in the interior of the multi-sectional lamp tube, and a buffer structure engaged to a distal end of the locking rod. The locking rod is a polygonal embedding section and a distal end thereof has a threaded section. The threaded section of the locking rod is inserted into a resisting block of the front lamp tube and then is exactly locked to the locking seat of the rear lamp tube. The middle section of the locking rod has an embedding section. The embedding section has a resisting block. A buffer structure between the locking rod and the resisting block serves to form a tightening buffer section. Thereby, the front lamp tube and rear lamp tube can be adjusted to an aligned position.

  • Patent number: 6592287
Abstract: An assembly of parts is prepared by providing a female part having a recess and a male part having an inserted surface received within the recess. A relief pattern such as knurling is formed on the inserted surface. The inserted surface of the male part is inserted into the recess of the female part with a contacting-channeled fit between the inserted surface and the recess surface, so that the knurl serves to align the inserted surface within the recess. The inserted surface of the male part is brazed or otherwise joined to the recess of the female part.

Abstract: A power transmitter, such as an automotive vehicle drive shaft, mounts via a pinion gear to a differential to transmit mechanical power to the wheels and thus propel the automotive vehicle. Such drive shafts traditionally mount to a differential/axle pinion gear interface flange via a splined connection, with a male spline on the axle pinion gear and a female spline on a flange or other mounting device. Replacing the spline with a polygonal coupling reduces backlash and rotational imbalance, and enables a better connection between the drive shaft and the differential. The polygonal fitting may also be used for making other connections.

  • Patent number: 6536162
Abstract: A shutter panel having a plurality of louvers having a composite construction. Each of the louvers is rotationally coupled to a shutter frame by a drive pin on one end and a support pin on the other end. The drive pins are linked to a rack and pinion louver mechanism for common rotational movement. In operation, the plurality of louvers rotate in unison by a simple manual action applied to a single louver. The drive pin includes a louver engaging end and a frame engaging end. The louver engaging end is a flat plate adapted to slip fit into a complementary slot included in a first end portion of the louver and retained therein by a complementary slot included in a first end portion of the louver and retained therein by interference forces. The slip fitting of the drive pin into the slot creates less stress on the louver and thus reduces the potential of crack initiation in the composite material of the louver.
