Patent number: 8485758Abstract: A mine roof support assembly for anchoring in a bore hole by means of a resin, cementitious grout which includes an elongated reinforcing tendon which extends from a proximal end portion to a distal end portion. A slip sheath formed from a heat shrunk plastic, is secured by heat shrinkage radially about the tendon. The sheath is mechanically coupled to the tendon so as to allow the desired axial sliding of the tendon relative to the sheath on the application of predetermined forces which sufficient to effect any desired yielding movement of the tendon in the bore hole. An anti-bonding agent or coating and/or anticorrosive may be interposed between the sheath and the tendon, whereby the sheath substantially encapsulates and limits the admixing of the interposed anti-bonding agent/anti-corrosive coating with the resin.Type: GrantFiled: January 7, 2009Date of Patent: July 16, 2013Inventors: Ming Cai, Denis Champaigne

Patent number: 8465238Abstract: The invention relates to a sliding bolt (10) for introducing into a bore, having an anchor rod (12), on which is disposed a sliding control element (14) with a through-opening (18), through which the anchor rod (12) extends, wherein the sliding control element (14) comprises a sliding body cage (16) having at least one recess (20) for receiving a sliding body (22) that is in contact with the lateral surface of the anchor rod (12), and having an anchor plate (24), which is intended to lie against a region surrounding the mouth of the bore once the sliding bolt (10) has been introduced into the bore. In contrast to conventional sliding bolts, the anchor plate (24) is in load-transferring connection with the sliding body cage (16), with the result that it is easily possible to provide a device that indicates a sliding path of the sliding bolt that is still available.Type: GrantFiled: February 29, 2008Date of Patent: June 18, 2013Assignee: Atlas Copco Mai GmbHInventors: Michael Meidl, Francois Charette

Publication number: 20130149041Abstract: A rock bolt component includes an elongate tubular section with an internal bore. A fixing member has an elongate body that includes a securing portion positionable in the internal bore of the tubular section and a coupling formation which projects from an opposite end of the fixing member. The fixing member is securable by deformation of an end of the tubular section, once the securing portion of the fixing member has been inserted into the end of the tubular section.Type: ApplicationFiled: December 6, 2012Publication date: June 13, 2013Inventor: Johann Steyn

Publication number: 20130121772Abstract: A stabilizing device for a load element of a ground anchor includes two plate members, wherein the plate members have a generally L-shape and are complementary and do form a generally cross shape when coupled together and when coupled together form a feed through sleeve for leading the load element there through. Each plate member includes at least one recess surrounded by plate material, which at least one recess of each plate member receives a central feed through sleeve forming plate member portion when the plate members are coupled together for forming the generally cross shaped stabilizing device.Type: ApplicationFiled: November 14, 2012Publication date: May 16, 2013Applicant: J.F.
