Then, a burr formed at a fitting-hole-side open end portion 7 of the through hole 3 is removed by rotating the cutting tool 9 while the leading end portion thereof is made to obliquely abut against the open end portion 7 of the through hole 3.

A compliance device extends around the pneumatic motor at a location between the backwall and the deburring tool secured to the drive shaft. The compliance device restricts the movement of the pneumatic motor while applying a compliance force to the pneumatic motor as the pneumatic motor moves with the pivot bearing.

When collecting the chips, an operator carries a chip collection vessel, opens the lid of the chip pickup case, and collects the dropped chips into the chip collection vessel. Even when a plurality of chip dressers is mounted, the chips can be collected together into the one chip collection vessel.

The trimming wheels utilize a textured pattern which operate to abrade the flash from the part, thereafter polishing the part on the return pass.

    Abstract: A stand-alone deburring apparatus greatly facilitates accurate deburring of difficult-to-access burrs located inside tubes, and does so in a manner which eliminates the need to tie up another more cumbersome and costly piece of machinery, such as a drill press. The apparatus includes a base plate, a motor with a horizontal shaft mounted to the base plate and a deburring body mounted vertically, adjacent the end of the shaft. The shaft coacts with toothed gears inside the body to rotatably drive the gears and a horizontally-oriented countersink coupled thereto. An adjustable collar provides a support surface or platform for supporting a tube to be deburred in alignment with the axis of the vertical body. When a burr is moved to a position above the shaft, the latter is lifted and is set in rotary motion so that its axially staggered tools remove and simultaneously fragmentize the burr. The shaft is then lowered and the product is advanced to move another burr of the same product to an optimum position for removal of the burr or to provide room for transport of another product to the deburring station. The tools can be used for removal of burrs from straight or curved metallic products.
