Each lashing device (10) has a base (14) and a bail (11) journalled to the base (14). The bail takes up a recessed position within the lashing channel (18) or a working position out of the channel. In the recessed position the channel (18) is closed by a cover plate formed with a load mounting rail (33) for a rapid change-over from a freight lashing function to a seat mounting function. The lashing channel is either a separate unit or it is integrated into a floor panel or it is formed between two floor panel sections. Reinforcing load take-up elements (30) are mounted within the channel between neighboring lashing devices.
