At Least One Of The Formations Comprises A Surface Eccentric To The Longitudinal Axis Of The Nuts Patents (Class 411/238)
  • Patent number: 10087977
Abstract: A double nut is provided in which a flange nut and an insert nut are coupled. The flange nut has a longitudinal axis and has, in an end region facing the insert nut, a stop surface and a wall surface. The insert nut has a longitudinal axis and has at least one snap element in an end region facing the flange nut. The stop surface extends over the at least one snap element radially in the direction of the longitudinal axis of the flange nut. The flange nut has a guide surface in the end region facing the insert nut which is disposed closer to the longitudinal axis of the flange nut than the wall surface.

  • Patent number: 7300237
Abstract: A bolted fastener for joining components, such as a bracket fastened to a crosspiece, includes a bolt, a nut and an eccentric. A square neck of a bolt fits into an oblong hole in a component and prevents the bolt from turning. The diameter of the eccentric that serves as a wedging means fits into the slightly larger diameter of the receptacle hole, allowing the eccentric to fit into the receptacle hole. When the nut is screwed on the bolt, the eccentric rotates about the bolt and, on account of its eccentricity, wedges itself within the receptacle hole. The wedged eccentric prevents accidental loosening or accidental unscrewing of the nut.

Abstract: A tightening structure for locking, comprises a nut, a bolt, and a washer with a hole through which an axis of the bolt passes. To enable the structure to lock more firmly, a recessed part symmetrical with respect to an axis, and having a generally trapezoidal shape in cross section, is formed in the nut, and a projection, symmetrical with respect to an axis, and having a generally trapezoidal cross section is formed on the washer. The hole in the washer is eccentric to the projection of the washer.

  • Patent number: 6786690
Abstract: In a fastener comprising a bolt (3), a nut (2), and a washer (1), a bolt through-hole (5) which is slightly larger than a nominal diameter of the bolt (3) is formed in a base portion (4) of the washer (1), a conical barrel member (6) whose diameter decreases toward an upward position in a bolt axial direction is formed around the bolt through-hole (5) so as to stand therefrom, a continuous slit for a notched circle is formed in the base portion (4) and the conical barrel member (6), the diameter of the conical barrel member (6) of such a washer (1) is decreased by the fastening of the nut (2) and the bolt (3), and the conical barrel member (6) is fitted into a conical hole portion (10) of the nut (2), thereby obtaining a state where the conical barrel member (6) of the washer (1) is bitten and sandwiched between the bolt (3) and the nut (2).

  • Patent number: 6609867
Abstract: An anti-loosening nut assembly is composed of an upper nut 3 and a lower nut 2 that engage with each other in an eccentric manner to afford the so-called ‘wedging’ effect of surely inhibiting them from loosening themselves. The upper nut 3 has one or more lateral lugs to be brought into contact with the lower end of a fastening tool such as a spanner. The lug or lugs 3b protrudes or protrude from the outer peripheral portion or portions of the upper nut 3 for the purpose of visual detection of rotation angle of this nut.

  • Patent number: 6112371
Abstract: An adjustable hinge assembly is comprised of a track to which is secured a slide member. A sash arm is secured at one end to the slide member and all along to a horizontal rail of a hinged window sash. A support arm is pivotally connected to the sash arm at one end thereof and pivotally connected to an adjustable connector at the other end. The improvement resides in the construction of the adjustable connector which is comprised of a stationary connecting post extending from a concentric circular disc and about which is positioned an adjustable nut. The nut is connected to the free end of the support arm and the top portion of the post is secured to the support arm by a sliding clip which is easily engaged and disengaged. Both the adjustable nut and the post are constructed from brass making them self-lubricating. The nut is also positioned in tight fit over the post whereby, when the nut is rotated to a desired position to adjust the position of the support arm, it will maintain the said position.

  • Patent number: 5919018
Abstract: A locking fastener (14) includes a threaded bolt (16) and a nut assembly (26) comprising a torque nut (28) and a lock nut (30). The lock nut (30) is threadably received on the bolt (16) and is shiftable to a locked condition in which the lock nut thread axis (76) is misaligned relative to the bolt thread axis (24) so as to restrict rotation of the lock nut (30) relative to the bolt (16). Such misalignment is achieved by cam surfaces (48,72) defined on the torque nut (28) and the lock nut (30), wherein the cam surfaces (48,72) cooperatively shift the lock nut (30) to the locked condition when the nuts (28,30) are moved relative to one another.

  • Patent number: 5688088
Abstract: A torque nut or screw that allows the nut to be tightened to a preset maximum torque, but prevents excess tightening. The nut or screw includes inner and outer threaded elements that extend along the same axis. The outer threaded element is tapered with respect to the axis. The fastener includes an inner fastening member (7) having fastening threads (8) and an outer female member (10) that is rotatable by means of a spanner, a pair of pliers, a screw driver, or other tool. The female member is connected to the inner fastening member by a coupling (13) having a sufficient strength to transfer to the inner fastening member a torque of a magnitude for which the fastening device is designed. The outer female member (10) is designed to be released upon tightening of the coupling and rotated relative to the inner fastening member (7), but not until the predetermined torque is exceeded. The coupling between the outer female (10) and the inner fastening member (7) includes a conical screw coupling.
