Abstract: A dual-threaded screw structure having two kinds of threads formed on a shank, namely, a first thread consisting of one or more threads and a second thread having a lead larger than a lead of the first thread is provided herein. The claimed configuration has a beneficial effect of preventing looseness when the screw structure is fastened with double nuts. One embodiment of the present invention exhibits an example of a dual-threaded screw structure, in which a root diameter between the ridges of the hill-like second thread ridges is formed to be larger by 10% of a height of the ridges than an effective diameter of a first thread. In this case, an inner diameter of an internal thread of a second nut for preventing looseness is formed to be larger than the effective diameter of the first thread by 10% of the height of the ridges.

The collar covers the locknut so as to prevent removal of the locknut and the collar without use of the key socket or key wrench.

Abstract: This disclosure is directed to the use of an adjustable hand tool which employs means to prevent the separation of the cross members. Specifically the invention uses an arcquate circular cross section rib which selectively engages one of several arcquate circular cross sectioned grooves. The pliers further have a pin with a cap at one end and externally threaded at the other. The pin has internal threads with a securing screw threadably mounted therein. A threaded cap is threadably attached to the pin and the securing screw tightened against the cap to cause it to remain in its selected position.

  • Patent number: 4794899
Abstract: A correction spring capsule which has a stop bolt inserted in a stepped longitudinal bore of a housing embodied as a screw sheath, a correction spring and an adjusting screw, which forms the abutment for the correction spring. This adjusting screw has the form of a cup-shaped adjusting ring provided with a continuous external thread and having a bottom and a sheath-like wall. The sheath-like wall is deformed into an oval shape in order to attain positional fixation of the adjusting screw and has its greatest deformation in the vicinity of one end section that is open toward the outside. As a result, the adjusting screw is infinitely adjustable and is secured in a positionally fixed manner in any position inside the housing in the vicinity of an internal thread.

  • Patent number: 4602903
Abstract: An anti-theft nut for forward threading on a threaded member and having removal preventing means. The nut has a nut case with an axially extending skirt and two axially extending blind bores, and a bottom nut attached to the skirt to define and inner cavity. Two roll pins of different lengths are assembled within the axially extending bores. An internal nut having an engagement shoulder for engagment by the roll pins, and a bearing disposed between the internal nut and the bottom nut are assembled within the nut cavity. The longer of the roll pins extends from its bore in the nut case to engage the shoulder of the internal nut to effect the forward threading of the anti-theft nut. Unthreading of the anti-theft nut is prevented due to jamming between the bottom nut, through the bearing, with the internal nut prior to possible engagement of the longer roll pin with the opposite side of the shoulder of the internal nut.

Abstract: An anti-vandalism nut assembly joins two or more structures and includes a threaded bolt and a specially designed nut which is assembled through the use of another threaded element. Two nuts are each formed with a rectangular or square base and four sloping sides providing a pyramid-like construction extending upwardly from the base. The inner securing nut cannot be rotated by conventional tools when seated tightly in place because of the sloping construction. In assembly or dis-assembly, the outer nut is threaded on the bolt and spaced from the inner nut so that a conventional tool may be wedged between the two nuts for gripping both nuts securely for selective rotation.

  • Patent number: 4248285
Abstract: A safety nut comprises an axial extension in which an elastic safety element is disposed. In one embodiment the element comprises a wire spring clip whose legs are tangent to a central thread of the nut so that a bolt threaded onto the nut flexes the legs and creates a reactive clamping force. In another embodiment the elastic element comprises a spring disk having a thread which is axially offset at only a portion relative to the nut thread. A bolt tends to axial distort the disk and thereby creates an axial reactive force which clamps the bolt. During manufacture, the disk is threaded simultaneously with the threading of the nut and is thereafter deformed at at least one location to create the axial offset relationship between the threads.
