Abstract: Provided is a structure for preventing the falling of a fastening nut of a portable power work machine, the structure reliably preventing loss of the nut and containing assembly cost, manufacturing cost, and component cost while reducing the possibility of damage, failure or the like and increasing the nut fastening and loosening workability and durability. A nut anchor member comprises a single bent wire or bar of elastically deformable material, and includes: a split ring-shaped portion externally retained in a circular groove provided at the outer periphery of a nut; a pair of left and right leg-like piece portions continuous with both ends of the split ring-shaped portion; and hook piece portions continuous with lower portions of the leg-like piece portions. A cover includes a locking portion that locks the hook piece portions so as to prevent the nut and the nut anchor member from falling from the cover when the nut is detached from the bolt.
Abstract: A wire bolt comprising an elongated section of wire rope with a section of threaded stud attached to each end is disclosed for use in reinforcing concrete structures. Part of the wire rope portion is coated with a substance to prevent that portion from bonding with the concrete. The threaded rod portion can be attached within the concrete by epoxy or attached to the concrete by appropriate mechanical means. The wire bolt can be attached to a concrete building structure during initial construction of a structure or retrofit into existing structures. Wire bolts should be installed in areas susceptible to shear or bending failure and serve to prevent the concrete sections from separating in a seismic event.
Abstract: A generally rectangular intra-spinous spacer preferably made of bone material advantageously has a low potential for bone fusion. The spacer has depressions sized and positioned on opposite sides to receive spinal processes. The depressions reduce the amount of bone-to-spinal process contact. A fixation strap of the spacer secured either to both the superior and inferior spinous processes or to only one of the superior or inferior processes laterally maintains the implanted position of the spacer and limits either flexion and extension, just flexion, or just extension.
Abstract: A lock nut system includes a molded nut having a plurality of teeth and a molded keeper having a plurality of keeper teeth engageable with the plurality of teeth to inhibit movement of the keeper relative to the nut when the plurality of teeth engages the plurality of keeper teeth. The keeper has a radially inner side configured to engage a shaft to inhibit rotational movement of the nut relative to the shaft when the plurality of teeth engages the plurality of keeper teeth.
Abstract: A cable bolt comprises a cable with a tubular yielding fixture at one of its ends. The pull-off load of such yielding fixture can be adjusted to a desired value. This is achieved by unwinding one end of the cable and inserting a slug over the kingwire. Then, the peripheral wires are wound again over the kingwire forming a bulge in the cable where the slug is located. The yielding fixture is then slid on the cable and forced over the bulged portion of the cable, while measuring the load required to achieve this operation, which also becomes the pull-off load of the yielding fixture. Finally, any part of the cable protruding from the fixture is cut-off to form the cable bolt with the desired yielding fixture at its end.
Abstract: A combined castellated and flange nut has a flange with a flat or conical underside, a clamping section with a conical internal thread and several axially parallel recesses, and a torque receiving second section between the clamping section and the flange. The second section has a cylindrical internal thread. At least the conical thread and the recesses of the clamping section are obtained by solid reshaping.
