At least the rotating piston is hollow or manufactured from a material lighter than the pressurized medium used in the device. The lever piston too can be hollow or manufactured from a material lighter than the medium used.

The vane member has a passage way communicating between the exterior of the casing and the operating chamber.     Abstract: A pump or motor 10 provides a housing 20 which carries one or more elliptical drivers 40 which rotate freely with an axle which is rotatably carried by the housing. One V-shaped rocker 60 is associated with each elliptical driver, and moves in an oscillatory motion in response to being driven by the associated elliptical driver. When used as a motor, fluid entering the housing tends to apply pressure to one side of the elliptical driver, while the other side is shielded from pressure by the V-shaped rocker. Uneven pressure causes the elliptical driver to rotate. As the elliptical driver rotates, the V-shaped rocker oscillates in a period manner at twice the frequency of the elliptical driver. The vertical height of the V-shaped is determined by an adjustable support 80, which allows regulation over the friction level and fluid seal between the rocker and the elliptical drive, and which allows adjustment to compensate for wear of the surfaces of contact between the rocker and the elliptical driver.

This is due to unequal frictional forces between the rolling surfaces. The linear bearing of the present invention substantially prevents straying and/or sliding of roller elements, and therefore provides bearing functionality at high speeds and great loads with longer longevity and reliability. The linear bearing can be used in many engineering applications, such as in a rotary engine, for example.

    Abstract: A pump for pumping a liquid containing solids comprises a housing having a first end and second end and an interior pump chamber. An inlet pipe leads to the pump chamber through the first end, and an outlet pipe leads from the pump chamber at the second end. A core having a vane extending therefrom rotates within the chamber. The core has hollow portions permitting material to move from the inlet pipe to the pump chamber and from the pump chamber to the outlet pipe. The vane extends from the core outwardly, seals against the housing, and works in cooperation with a pair of moving blades to draw material from the inlet pipe and expel the material through the outlet pipe. The blades, which are arcuate in shape and have curved ends, are operated by pneumatic cylinders and move from a retracted position in which they are positioned out of the pump chamber to a deployed position in which the curved end sealably engages the core.

After being introduced through an intake port of the manifold, fluid is transferred past the combination dynamic seal and fluid channeling assembly, through a seal-engaging channel in the housing and into the compression space, where it is compressed via rotation of the compression eccentric about the axial shaft.

The abutments are constructed to move in a linear direction, to allow the blade sections to rotate from one chamber to another. The movement of the abutments is synchronous with the rotation of the rotor, so that the abutments are always in contact with the rotor to insure that there is negligible fluid communication between chambers.

The divider is provided with longitudinallly spaced slots in which the rotor skirt is engaged whereby the divider is reciprocated as the sloping portions of the skirt pass through the slots.
