  • Patent number: 7563510
Abstract: In a scroll compressor, a thrust ring is mounted between a movable-side flat plate part of a movable scroll and a housing. An upper surface of the thrust ring slides relative to a lower surface of the movable-side flat plate part and supports a thrust load from the movable scroll. A resinous coating is formed on the upper surface of the thrust ring which slides relative to the movable-side flat plate part. The resinous coating is composed primarily of fluorocarbon resin and polyamide-imide resin. The component percentage of the polyamide-imide resin in the primary component of the resinous coating is set, such that it is not less than 65% by mass nor more than 85% by mass.

This configuration provides a scroll compressor that has a higher accuracy and thus high compression efficiency and low noise are realized.

Abstract: The present invention provides a scroll type fluid machine realizing reduced attachment space in a casing and improvement in workability at the time of assembly and the like by using a plurality of ball coupling mechanisms. A plurality of ball coupling mechanisms are disposed between a casing and a rear side of an orbiting scroll. Each of the ball coupling mechanisms includes first and second thrust receivers (reception plates), a sphere, and a cylindrical ring. A thrust load to be applied to an end plate of the orbiting scroll is received between the first and second thrust receivers (reception plates) and the sphere. The cylindrical ring disposed between the first and second thrust receivers displays a so-called rotation preventing effect in such a manner that its outer peripheral surface makes a rolling contact with inner peripheral surfaces of cylindrical portions in association with an orbiting motion of the orbiting scroll.

Abstract: In a method of repairing a scroll compressor, the casing 100 of the compressor is cut open by making two transverse cuts through the casing to give access to the internal components of the compressor. The casing 100 is then resealed, using two annular reinforcing structures 300, one at each cut, to conserve the dimensions of the casing 100. This allows a scroll compressor to be repaired and re-assembled without losing the fine positioning of internal components which are held in place by the casing 100. Each annular reinforcing structure 300 comprises a ring 310 with an outwardly directed flange 305. The flange 305 has a thickness chosen to conserve the dimensions of the re-assembled casing while allowing single-pass welding and the ring 310 has a length which is chosen to provide at least location of the cut surfaces of the casing 100 during re-assembly and, optionally, shielding to prevent weld pool, slag or splatter entering the canister 100.

Abstract: A scroll compressor is provided with spaced grooves in a base of one of the two scroll members. A recess is formed in a wrap tip of the other scroll member. The recess in the wrap tip bridges a space between the grooves of the other scroll member. This bridging equalizes pressure between two parallel intermediate compression chambers. Pressure equalization between the chambers improves compressor efficiency.

Abstract: A back pressure chamber 12 provided on a back surface of an orbiting scroll 5 is divided into an inner region 12a and an outer region 12b by an annular seal 11. A diameter d of the annular seal 11 is set 0.5 times or more of a diameter D of an orbiting mirror plate 5a. With this, plus thrust force can be applied to the orbiting scroll 5 irrespective of magnitude of a discharge pressure Pd applied to the inner region 12a. Therefore, it is possible to push the orbiting scroll 5 against the fixed scroll 4 only by back pressure of discharge pressure. A set pressure Pm of the outer region 12b is reduced to a value close to a suction pressure Ps, a pressure adjusting mechanism 20 is swiftly opened after a scroll compressor is started. With this, lubricant oil is supplied from the outer region 12b to the suction space 9 without a time lag.
