Rearward And Downward Patents (Class 42/34)
  • Patent number: 11029125
Abstract: A forend stock for a break open firearm having a housing lug, the housing lug being attached into the lower side of the barrel assembly. A coupler is secured onto the housing lug. At the coupler end opposite the housing lug rod, there is a cylindrical area, and between the two coupler ends, another finished area forming an extended flange. The extended flange has a larger diameter than the cylindrical ends of the coupler. A latch bolt is secured to the forend stock by a cover plate. The latch bolt is topped at one of its ends with a sharp bevel. At its other end, it has a cylindrical post to support a pressure spring, and is held in a longitudinal channel or recess, and arranged such that a user can access an actuator knob for manual handling of the latch bolt. The cover plate assembly has an aperture which the ledges of an extended protrusion of the latch bolt fit within, defining the forward and backward travel limits that the bolt can go in a direction parallel to the axial direction of the barrel.

  • Patent number: 8234807
Abstract: A high feed ramp for use in Colt 1911 style handguns including a feed ramp on the frame (receiver) for guiding bullets into the barrel of the gun; a boiler room (barrel breech) with a small chamfered around its entire inner circumference; and an integral relief rim extension on the upper edge of the feed ramp, such that the feed ramp is extended over the bottom edge of the chamfered boiler room; wherein when the handgun is fired the bullets easily enter into the barrel and do not jam or misfire.

  • Patent number: 7849623
Abstract: A muzzleloading firearm for engaging a firing pin to discharge a primer includes a trigger plate connected between a front stock and a rear stock, with a central cavity traversing the trigger plate to support a sear and a trigger in mechanical communication with the sear. A hammer assembly is pivotally mounted to the trigger plate to rotate between a cocked position and a resting position, and includes a base extending into the central cavity. The base includes an upper arcuate surface opposite a lower locking surface having a shoulder. A hammer head member is connected to the upper arcuate surface to engage a firing pin. A rolling breechblock is pivotally attached to the plate between a retracted loading position and a firing position, and has a curved upper surface to engage the arcuate surface of the hammer assembly when moving between the loading position and the firing position to force the distal end of the sear to engage shoulder of the base.

  • Patent number: 7343706
Abstract: A camblock assembly with a camblock and a guide rod is employed in a firearm having a frame constructed of synthetic polymer material. The camblock has a front flange with flange surfaces that engage corresponding bearing surfaces of the frame to distribute forces and energy to the frame during recoil of the firearm. A shelf member is positioned at a front end of the camblock and a coiled flat wire buffer spring is positioned about the guide rod to resist movement of a reciprocating slide. A detent mechanism positioned within the camblock contacts a surface of a slide stop pin to hold the slide stop latch in place. The interior of the slide stop latch contains an elongated wire having an end that engages the frame such that the slide stop latch is biased in a down position.

  • Patent number: 6718680
Abstract: A semiautomatic handgun having multiple safeties includes a body made in two halves and a slide which can move lengthwise on a pair of rails. The hammer is cocked by rearward movement of the slide. The trigger, which has purely translation motion, is blocked from behind except when the user is wearing a special magnetic ring on his trigger finger. A decocker mechanism pushes the firing pin forward and slides the sear back, and prevents release of the hammer until the firing pin is blocked. The firing pin is normally blocked by a cup, which prevents the firing pin from moving forward if the gun is dropped. The cup is moved to an inactive position by a release lever only when the trigger is pulled. A safety lock, which is preferably operated by a special tool, prevents the transfer bar from moving. The firing pin block lever is locked in a downward position when the safety is activated. A hammer block bar prevents the hammer from moving when the safety is on.

  • Patent number: 6604311
Abstract: A muzzle-loading firearm with a lever-operated breechblock pivotally movable between a securely locked closed position to an open position to expose in plain view a removable breech plug having a cavity for receiving a primer, detonation of which causes ignition of a powder charge in the muzzle loader barrel. The breechblock and a lever are pivotally mounted on a rearward barrel lug which is attached to the barrel. The lever is operatively connected to the breechblock by a pivotally mounted link. The pivotal link in an angular position exerts a locking force on the closed breechblock. The lever manually moves the breechblock rearwardly and downwardly to an open position. A firing mechanism assembly, including a trigger, hammer, firing pin, and torsional springs for forwardly biasing the trigger and hammer, is a unitary member of the rotating breechblock structure.
