Abstract: An apparatus and method for making an occlusion device for occluding a body vessel. The apparatus and method include providing a frame and a mandrel. The frame has a hub extending along a longitudinal axis from a proximal end to a distal end. A plurality of arcuate legs are attached to the hub and extend distally. The arcuate legs are flexible and have inner surfaces defining an inner profile in an unconstrained state. The mandrel has an outer surface corresponding to the inner profile of the occlusion device. A base layer of a biocompatible material is disposed on the outer surface of the mandrel. The frame is placed on the outer surface with the base layer between the frame and the mandrel. The frame is attached to the base layer such that the biocompatible material forms a membrane extending along and between the arcuate legs.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for feeding a polyurethane mixture suitable to form a thermally insulating layer inside hollow bodies, such as hollow walls of a refrigerator cabinet, freezer, display counter or insulating panel. A polyurethane mixture resulting from chemically reactive components, supplied by a high-pressure mixing device, is injected into a cavity of a hollow body extending in a horizontal plain. The mixture is injected at a first flow-rate and a first injection speed, to be poured into a first deposition zone farthest from the injection point. Subsequently, the flow-rate and the injection speed of the polyurethane mixture are gradually reduced in a controlled manner, to be poured in successive deposition zones towards the injection point of the polyurethane mixture, along a distribution strip, allowing the injected mixture to spread out throughout the cavity of the hollow body along isometric expansion lines.

Abstract: To provide an assembly which is as small as possible which contains a well-protected component and effectively dissipates heat, and to provide a device and a method for use in the rapid manufacture of such an assembly, an assembly includes a component and a housing from which the component is partially separated by narrow casting gaps filled with a casting compound containing a relatively large amount of filler. For the manufacture of such an assembly, a device is used for filling with casting compound and which includes a mounting for securing the assembly in a position which permits air to escape from the casting gaps, which have an external connection during filling. Also there are supply containers and supply lines for the casting compound which open into the casting gaps, and an apparatus for generating pressure. A method which is used to fill narrow casting gaps with casting compound by using such a device.

Abstract: Inventive machine allowing the simultaneous fabrication of several objects by a method of “rapid prototyping” type, by depositing a succession of layers of heat-fusible fluid. It chiefly comprises a crossbar (20) carrying two platforms (11) on each of which an object is fabricated by deposition. Two fixed work stations are arranged diametrically opposite each other so that the jet (12) of each of these fixed stations can perform a depositing operation at the same time as the other jet (12). After each deposit, the crossbar is rotated 180° to alternate the depositing operations of the two different materials. Particular application to prototyping jewellery models.
