    Abstract: Flanges are provided on a screw casing and a cylinder member of a screw driving unit in opposition to each other, and coupled with each other with fastening bolts. An adjusting ring is screwed onto the outer circumference of one of the flanges. The screw member is moved together with the ring in a backward direction until the end of the screw hits. The ring is rotated thereafter to bring it into contact with a side of the other flange, where a datum position is established. The cylinder member is then retreated an adequate amount in this state, and the ring is moved by a specified quantity. The specified quantity, represents the stroke quantity and bolts are fastened so that the ring comes into contact with the side of the other flange. The screw is thereby adjusted in its stroke.

    Abstract: A vessel for duplicating dental models has at least two mold halves which can be clamped together. The mold halves have elements for mutually centering and for securing the model to be duplicated, for example, a tooth stump or the like. The vessel further includes an intake funnel each for pouring in liquid silicone and refractory casting material. A foil insert is provided in the plane of separation of the two mold halves when the vessel is closed. The foil insert has a thickness which corresponds in size to the setting expansion of the refractory casting material. The model to be duplicated is located in the center axis of the vessel and extends approximately by half its length through the foil insert and is held in position by the foil insert.

    Abstract: A heated injection molding nozzle having a rear member and a forward member which is removable. A channel extends through the rear and forward members to convey pressurized melt to one or more gates extending through the mold to a cavity. The rear member has an electrical heating element with a spiral portion which extends around the melt channel. The forward member has a tapered rear portion which extends rearwardly into a matching tapered well in the rear member. The taper is sufficient so the tapered portion is frictionally retained in the well to removably mount the forward member to the rear member. This allows the forward member to be easily turned or driven out of engagement in the well to replace it with a new forward member or a forward member having a different configuration to provide a different type or arrangement of gating.

    Abstract: A compact and precision extrusion system for extruding strips of rubber compounds with profiles of accurate dimensions. Strips of rubber compound are uniformly heated and mixed in an extruder and then passed through a low pressure drop strainer to remove foreign matter. The strained compound then is fed directly into a gear pump which delivers precise volumes of the rubber compound immediately into the spread chamber of an extrusion head after which it passes through a die to form a precise strip of the rubber compound. The strainer and extrusion head are movably mounted with respect to the gear pump for axial separation from the gear pump for easy removal of the rubber compound from the various components of the system to facilitate compound changes. A control system regulates the speed of the extruder to provide a near constant pressure at the entrance port of the gear pump to precisely regulate the rate of extrusion of the compound from the extrusion head.

    Abstract: A tire-vulcanizing mold including a profiled segment. In order to assure a safe gas discharge from the cavity formed in the tire-vulcanizing mold during the forming of the tire blanks, the invention provides that the profiled segment be divided along at least one interface into at least two partial profiled segments, that the interface extends substantially parallel to a plane of rotation in relationship to the tire mold, and that the interface cuts the areas of the tire-vulcanizing mold to be vented. Manufacture of the segments is done much that the profiled segment is first manufactured in one piece and is thereafter divided into the partial profiled segments by a cutting operation leaving behind a narrow cutting line.

    Abstract: The components forming the layers of a composite pipe are successively introduced into a rotary drum (1). Initially, a plastic reinforcing layer (8), including a fibre reinforcement, is introduced into the drum, the ends of the drum (1) being bounded by rings. A concrete core layer (16) is then introduced and the length of the core layer (16) is shortened relative to that of the drum (1) by shaping rings fixed to the drum ends. The shaping rings are then replaced by other shaping rings (20, 21) so that, on either side of the core layer (16), two annular spaces (22, 23) are formed which are filled by a socket material (24, 25) of the same composite as the reinforcing layer (8). Thus, at one pipe end a socket end (28) is formed and at the other pipe end a spigot end (30) is formed, each such end being located within the composite pipe wall thickness. After introducing a second reinforcing layer (26), the production of the composite pipe is completed.
