Abstract: In one example in accordance with the present disclosure, an additive manufacturing build unit is described. The additive manufacturing build unit includes a vibrating bed on which a volume of build material is to be disposed. The bed is to vibrate to remove excess build material. A non-vibrating frame of the build unit supports the vibrating bed. The build unit also includes a bed-frame interface to: couple the vibrating bed to the non-vibrating bed frame, and isolate vibrations to the vibrating bed. A flexible seal of the build unit is disposed between the vibrating bed and non-vibrating frame. The flexible seal prevents build material from contaminating an additive manufacturing system in which the additive manufacturing build unit is disposed and allows relative motion between the vibrating bed and the non-vibrating frame.

The vibrations required to compress concrete are produced by a vibration device acting directly upon the formwork device. In order to reduce noise emission, the mass of the supporting structure is selected in such a way that the intrinsic frequency of a system consisting of the supporting structure and vibration decoupling device is lower than the excitation frequency of the vibration device. Preferably, the formwork device, vibration decoupling device, vibrators and all electrical feed lines and connections are premounted, forming a module which can then be mounted on the supporting structure.

  • Patent number: 7025583
Abstract: Apparatus and method for carrying out compaction operations on molded bodies that consist of granular materials and are placed on pallets, the compaction being achieved by impact of a vibrating table on the underside of the pallet. The vibrating table, together with a spring system forms a mass-spring system, which acts as a vibrator capable of oscillation that is excited by an excitation device to produce forced vibrations. The spring system, together with the system mass, is designed to develop at least one individual frequency within the range of the compaction frequency, whereby it is also possible to adjust the individual frequency gradually or continuously. This, together with the fact that the excitation frequency can be adjusted, allows the vibrator to be operated partially or completely in resonance mode over the whole frequency range of the compaction.

  • Patent number: 7004442
Abstract: A mold frame for an apparatus for producing shaped concrete articles has two longitudinal and two transverse frame members which are detachably screwed to one another with form-fit on the four corners of the rectangular mold frame. The transverse frame members on their end faces have polygonal pins which fit closely into the correspondingly shaped recesses of the longitudinal frame members to resist torsional movement. The polygonal pins and recesses are penetrated by one locking screw at a time with which the mold frame is braced in itself. A mold insert which has several mold cavities is braced within the mold frame by a tongue and groove connection. The form-fit screw connection between the longitudinal and transferse frame members makes it possible to accommodate the very high forces and torques which are formed by shaking vibrations during the molding process.
