A gate preferably is positioned at an end of the chamber remote from the plunger for selectively closing the chamber for filling and opening the chamber for discharge of the mold charge.

    Abstract: The invention is basically a device that injects colors into the plastic at the nozzle end of the injection screw. To place the invention on an injection screw, one drills a small opening in the injector barrel just before the injection nozzle. One then attaches a check valve to this opening. To the check valve, a color tube, a flow control valve, and a color pump are attached. Attached to the color pump are the color hopper with liquid color pigment and the high-pressure air supply line. The high-pressure air runs the color pump and pumps the color pigment under pressure into the flow control valve, the color line, the check valve and the barrel. For each color that an individual wishes to add to the plastic, one uses a separate opening, check valve, tube, flow control valve, and color hopper.

    Abstract: A foam transport article transports foam dispensed from a foam nozzle to a mold cavity. The foam transport article is an intermediary allowing a foam nozzle which may not reach a mold opening in the mold cavity to be extended such that no foam pours outside the mold cavity onto the back of a mold part because they are in communication via the foam transport article. The foam transport article acts as a conduit for the foam. Once the foam hardens, the foam transport article may be removed. Upon removal, the foam breaks within the mold cavity at the mold opening. Any foam remaining within the foam transport article is removed completely by forcing it out the output end.     Abstract: A polymer is plasticized in a plasticizing unit and is thereafter fed into a transfer device which is moved into alignment with a clamping press which is remotely located from the plasticizing unit. The polymer from the transfer device is deposited directly into a mold attached to the clamping press or is deposited on a carrier which moves into the mold. An impress preforming device allows the carrier deposited polymer to be shaped prior to entering the mold. Alternatively, the transfer device can be connected with a chamber which is capable of coating continuous or chopped fibers which are deposited on a carrier in a continuous or chopped manner. The carrier moves the fiber composite into the mold.

In a preferred embodiment, the lightweight, strengthened gypsum construction board of the present invention also comprises an optional covering veneer that is applied to provide increased strength, moisture resistance, and fire retardency, and the back paper top ply is treated to provide increased flexural strength.

The dispenser has a dispensing aperture which points towards the mold and can be closed by a closure unit and from which the flow of plasticized material emerges. A shearing device for separating the required portions of material is situated below and at a distance from the dispensing aperture.
