Abstract: A method for forming a curved surface in a planar composite sandwich panel, the method including: providing a sandwich panel having a first outer layer and a second outer layer spaced from the first outer layer by a panel core. The first outer layer, the second outer layer and the panel core are substantially planar. The sandwich panel includes a first end, a second end and at least one edge. One or more recesses are formed in the second outer layer and the panel core of the sandwich panel, wherein each of the one or more recesses form a continuous channel between the first end and the second end along a first axis. A bonding material is applied to at least one edge of the sandwich panel. A force is applied to at least a portion of the sandwich panel to impart a curved outer surface in the sandwich panel, wherein the curved outer surface is formed by the first outer layer. The sandwich panel is then secured for a predetermined period of time to maintain the curved outer surface.

  • Patent number: 8815370
Abstract: A decorative floor tile including at least one decorative layer and a backing layer having an array of resilient annular projections. Each annular projection includes a concave top surface, an outside wall surface, and an inside wall surface. The inside wall surface defines a central, blind passageway area. When the decorative floor tile is installed over an underlying surface, and pressure is applied to the decorative floor tile, a vacuum is created within the blind passageway and the underlying surface. The vacuum increases the amount of frictional drag between the surface covering and the underlying surface, and thus allows the surface covering to remain in place without the need for an adhesive.

The central region occupies most of the topside and is substantially flat throughout except for the channels. One or more gutters in the floormat communicate with the distal ends of the channels. One or more discrete outlet gutters in the floormat allow drainage off the floormat. After placing the floormat where a user is expected to stand during the procedure, fluids that fall onto the floormat will flow from the channels to the one or more gutters for removal from one or more discrete locations on the one or more gutters.

Abstract: Embodiments of the invention provide a mask plate, a method for fabricating an array substrate using the mask plate, and an array substrate. The mask plate is used for fabricating the array substrate by a stitching exposure. The mask plate comprises 2n+1 mask patterns successively arranged and parallel to each other, where n is any natural number, each mask pattern includes a light-shielding pattern corresponding to a portion of a data signal line on the array substrate. The light-shielding patterns of two adjacent mask patterns are discontinuous, and the portions on both sides of the light-shielding pattern of the mask pattern located in the middle of the mask plate are asymmetric.

Abstract: The present invention provides a slipsheet and/or divider sheet and a method for making the same, the sheet having an imprint or an embossing that provides a raised planar surface. The raised planar surface preferably comprises a plurality of ridges, crowns or crests, which are preferably arranged in a pattern throughout an upper surface of the sheet. To make the sheet, a die can be etched to have protuberances or bumps, and the die is preferably pressed into a sheet of pliable thermoplastic material. The sheet thus made has a plurality of indentation formed by the protuberances or bumps on the die, and the sheet has a planar outer surface comprising a plurality of ridges, crowns and crests between the indentations.

Abstract: Disclosed is a protective cover for an electronic device that is made from an elastomeric material that simultaneously provides cushioning that would otherwise be provided by a softer, thicker material, while utilizing a single, denser material that provides a slim profile and has sufficient density to conform well to the electronic device and prevent the transmission of impacts with hard surfaces directly to the electronic device. Although a denser material is used for the protective cover, recesses are formed in thicker portions at impact points that create compressible ribs. The ribs provide softer, cushioned portions of the cover in the impact areas, which are capable of absorbing the shock and energy of impacts. Other protective covers have a uniform thickness.
