Abstract: The current invention, Terrain Rehab Mats, consist of three portable mats that are intended to simulate outdoor terrain for the express use of the rehabilitation of older adults at risk for falls. The three mats each have a distinct top layer consisting of either, concrete, gravel or grass and then two substrate layers forming one solid layer. Terrain Rehab Mats provide older adults with much needed exposure to outdoor terrain which can often be problematic for older adults with impaired balance and gait. While the current therapeutic tools available offer a variety of tools and equipment, none are known to incorporate outdoor terrain as in this invention. The Terrain Rehab Mats will be used in a variety of rehabilitation settings and with older adults who have a wide range of diagnoses which increases their effectiveness as a rehabilitative tool.

  • Publication number: 20140193593
Abstract: An artificial turf for a synthetic field system includes a flexible, water-permeable backing, a pile fabric woven into the backing, and a limited layer of water-absorbent, eco-friendly and light reflective infill deposited within voids formed in the pile fabric. The pile fabric is constructed with a plurality of separate, upwardly standing, reduced height tufts, each tuft including a plurality of synthetic filaments that resemble individual blades of natural grass. The tufts are arranged into parallel rows, with the spacing between rows being fixed and equal to the spacing between successive tufts in each row so as to yield an artificial field surface with an increased density of filaments. The dimensional aspects and high filament density of the artificial turf introduces a number of notable advantages over conventional artificial turfs including better performance, less surface heat retention, improved aesthetics, reduced infill maintenance requirements, and greater compliance with environmental standards.

The assembly functions to conceal an unsightly core portion including, tree trunks, poles, bases, stands, metal cores, lighting cords, and electrical wiring. A cylinder-shaped molding engages the core portion by contouring the core portion to provide a snug fit. The molding includes an axially extending, generally inwardly directed slit that passes through a portion of the diameter of the molding, sufficient for allowing the molding portion to fully cover the core member. An exterior portion contours the exterior surface area of the molding. The exterior can include a plethora of natural configurations including, tree bark, leaves, buds, fruit, nuts, water droplets, sap, insects, and flower petals. However, holiday themes, artisitic designs, or artificial configurations are also possible for the exterior visuals.

Abstract: A fluid absorbent structure adapted to absorb fluids oozing from foodstuffs on its contacting surface with the foodstuffs even when the fluid absorbent structure is in a slanted position against the container bottom. A drip sheet includes an upper sheet, a lower sheet and an absorbent sheet interleaved between these upper and lower sheets. The upper sheet includes a perforated region and non-perforated region. The non-perforated region is formed with a display element which is visually recognized from an upper surface of the upper sheet. The upper sheet is formed with grooves which are depressed from the upper surface of the upper sheet toward a lower surface facing the absorbent sheet and at least partially overlaps with the perforations. The grooves include a first segment extending along a longitudinal imaginary center line, and second and third segment intersecting the first segment. The lower sheet is formed with a plurality of perforations which are breathable and liquid-permeable.

Abstract: The invention relates to an artificial lawn, in particular for an artificial grass sports field comprising an artificial mat built up of a carrier to which artificial glass fibers are attached. The object of the invention is to provide a new type of artificial lawn, which in particular obviates the need to use an infill material, without this having an adverse effect on the playing characteristics of the sports field. According to the invention, the carrier is at least in part provided with at least one additional material component, which additional material component imposes a permanent volume increase on said part of the carrier under the influence of an external stimulus after being provided in the artificial mat.

Abstract: Attenuating, while in a given situation, a person's emanated electromagnetic field and the person's scent or odor, by the person wearing article(s) of apparel that include an electromagnetically shielding fabric. The shielding fabric comprises a substantially continuous system of conductive fibers combined with a non-conductive fabric. The conductive fibers attenuate both the emanated electromagnetic field and the emanated scent or odor. The given situation comprises hunting, animal handling, being in or on a body of water, or a human adversarial situation. Attenuating the person's emanated electromagnetic field decreases the likelihood of that emanated field affecting progress or an outcome of the given situation.
