    Abstract: Provided is method of preparing a printed matter with a printed array of particles, the method including: (a) preparing a template, a surface of which has depressions or projections capable of fixing the positions and/or orientations of one or more particles; (b) placing the particles on the template and applying a physical pressure to the particles so that a portion or the whole of each particle is inserted in each of pores defined by the depressions or the projections to form a particle array; and (c) contacting the template having thereon the particle array to a printing substrate so that the particle array is transferred to the printing substrate.
