  • Patent number: 8283011
Abstract: The present invention relates to peelable resealable multilayer films which include at least a first polymer layer, a second polymer layer of pressure-sensitive adhesive in direct contact with and bonded to both the first and third layers. The bond formed between the second and third layers includes a peelable resealable interface having a first interfacial peel strength, A, and a second interfacial peel strength, B. The peelable resealable interface includes a first interfacial peel strength, A, having a value of less than 3500 gram-force/inch (1350 newton/meter) as measured in accordance with ASTM F-904-98 test method when the films of the present invention are peeled from a second thermoplastic film to which the film has been heat-sealed. The second interfacial peel strength, B, has a value of at least 400 gram-force/inch (154 newton/meter) as measured in accordance with ASTM F-904-98 test method when the films are peeled from and re-adhered to a second film.

  • Patent number: 8263201
Abstract: A self-laminating rotating cable marker label is constructed of a transparent film having a first adhesive area, an adhesive-free smooth area, and a second adhesive area. A print-on area forms one side of the transparent film, the print-on area adapted to receive indicia identifying the cable about which the marker label is applied. A perforation extends across the transparent film providing a line of separation of the transparent film. When wrapped around a cable, the second adhesive area overlies the print-on area such that the cable identifying indicia is visible through the transparent second adhesive area. As the transparent film is wrapped around the cable, the first adhesive area adheres to the cable. The remainder of the transparent film is rotated, breaking the perforation, whereby the smooth area of the film in contact with the cable provides smooth rotation of the label around the cable.

  • Patent number: 7875332
Abstract: A tape body having an adhesive layer includes a tape center to be affixed to an object and a tape outer periphery continuous to an outer periphery of the tape center and separable therefrom. A release paper includes a release paper center laminated on the tape center except at the outer periphery of the tape center, and a release paper outer periphery at least partially continuous to an outer periphery of the release paper center and separable therefrom. Thus, when the release paper center is separated from the tape center, opposite ends of the tape center adhere to the release paper outer periphery. Therefore, after a part of the tape center is affixed to the object, the tape outer periphery and the release paper outer periphery are separated from the tape center, and the remaining parts of the tape center are affixed to the object, thereby completing the adhesion operation.

  • Patent number: 7824752
Abstract: A label product in web form has alternating, oppositely indented creases in the liner of the product to produce a fan-folded stack having alternating, reversely folded plies. Each crease is substantially, if not entirely, perforation-free to maximize the strength of the liner at the fold lines. The product is preferably produced on a narrow web press in a creasing station that includes a stack of rolls wherein a first die roll is on the bottom of the stack, a second die roll is on the top of the stack, and a pair of base rolls are located in the middle of the stack between the die rolls. A blade on each die roll cooperates with a cushion on the corresponding base roll to produce a crease during every other rotation of the die roll, each of the base rolls having a smaller circumference than its corresponding die roll.
