Weakened lines of substrate may be provided to define removable portions on the top printable substrate. The form also may include a similar printable substrate mated to the other side of the liner by adhesive. Weakened lines of substrate also may formed in the second substrate to define removable portions. The integrated card form includes a printable substrate and a first and second laminate mated to the substrate and together by an adhesive. Weakened lines of substrate and first laminate define an integrated removable portion capable of being held in the form by the second laminate and easily removed manually when desired.

The transparent film support material has an inner surface and an outer surface. The pressure-sensitive adhesive layer is disposed over the transparent film support material inner surface. The release layer is disposed over the pressure-sensitive adhesive layer. The printable layer is disposed over the pressure-sensitive adhesive layer, and includes an inner surface facing the release layer and an opposing outer surface. The outer surface exhibits a roughness of 4 to 50 ?m (DIN 4768). The one or more first detachment lines extend from the printable layer outer surface and through the printable layer and the release layer, to thereby form a first sub-region.

Abstract: A self-adhesive product having a laser slit release liner and method provide improved performance and lower materials cost in self-adhesive products such as roofing and underlayment products, through-wall flashing, below-grade waterproofing and other rolled or flat roofing or other such self-adhesive weatherproofing products. A single piece release liner is applied to a roll or liner of material over a self-adhesive layer of the material. The release liner is cut into two or more segments using a laser beam. The laser beam oxidizes the adhesive region of the self-adhesive material in the area under the laser beam used to slit the release liner, thereby eliminating or minimizing unwanted adhesion caused by the migration of adhesive material when the product is rolled, stacked or stored. The laser beam may be used to create two or more segments in the release liner in a linear or curvilinear fashion.

Abstract: Slitters cut through a first layer of film immediately prior to lamination of the first layer to a second layer of film to form a strip therebetween. The degree of bonding between the first and second layers is adjusted so that the strip can be removed without harming the rest of the film or destroying any barrier properties. The lamination process can utilize extrusion lamination or adhesive lamination to provide a variety of uses: removable coupons, prize disclosures, stickers, and an adhesive re-close strip.

The film can be used to protect the surface of plates or panels used in construction materials, vehicles, and the like, particularly during transportation, storage and/or assembly. Also disclosed are articles comprising the film and a process for using the film.

The adhesive pads can be made of moleskin material. An adhesive pad kit for footwear may have at least two pairs of thin adhesive backed pads in which the pads in one pair have one predetermined color and the pads in the second pair have a different color.

In order to make it easier to remove the cover sheet from the adhesive layer a pull-thread is provided which passes through the cover sheet and has at least one free end that protrudes from the sealing strip.

Abstract: An ovenable package contains an ovenable product and has a display surface mounting a self-adhesive ovenable label, for example, presenting a coupon or other product promotional item. The ovenable label has at least two layers including a promotional layer defining the text and graphics of the promotional item. The promotional layer can be paper covered by a transparent, heat resistant barrier layer, preferably made of polyester, adhered to the ovenable package directly or to a heat resistant base layer which is adhered to the ovenable package. In this case, one or more layers of the label can be perforated to define a lift off section. Or, the promotional layer itself can be the outer heat resistant layer releasably adhered to the base layer. A labeling method of providing the promotional item to a consumer of the ovenable product is also disclosed.

Abstract: A weighing scale which includes a label printer for printing labels having a detachable portion. A label cassette is easily inserted or removed from the weighing scale. The label cassette is changed depending on the type of label to be printed. Standard labels can be printed, or labels having detachable portions along one side can be printed. The detachable portion can have merchandising information printed thereon including coupon information, advertising information, discounts, specials, and product information. The information on the label and detachable portions is easily edited by an operator at a control panel of the weighing scale. A conversational display is provided which allows easy editing and also allows specials, recipes, etc., to be displayed. A molded cover is provided to prevent moisture from entering the weighing scale without interfering with the operation of the weighing scale.

The purge dam is installed by peeling the removable backing (if present) and exposing the adhesive for adhesion.

Abstract: A partitioning device for sealingly closing an opening in a working surface is provided. The partitioning device generally includes a panel having a sealing side including a perimeter portion. An adhesive trim is disposed about the perimeter portion on the sealing side. A package trim is removably attached to the adhesive trim, such that when the package trim is removed to expose the adhesive trim the partitioning device can be sealingly adhered to a wall surface surrounding a wall opening.

Abstract: An adhesive coated label includes indicia disposed on a facestock and layers of tactile coating selectively applied to discrete areas of the facestock to create distinct raised portions on the label. The tactile coating may be applied to correspond to the location of the indicia, wherein the raised portions overlie the indicia. A separate layer of primer may be applied to the facestock to cover substantially an entire side of the facestock. A plurality of such labels may be provided on a web of release liner which has been formed into a roll. The label may be applied to a container and the raised portions of the label provide tactile feel which enhances the aesthetic qualities of the label and container.

A half-cut is provided in the image receiver sheet.

Abstract: A label assembly comprises a support sheet of a paper material defining opposite surfaces, an adhesive coating applied to one side of the support sheet, and a printing paper defining opposite front and rear surfaces. The rear surface of the printing paper is releasably fixed to the support sheet in facial contact therewith through the adhesive coating and the printing paper is divided into individual paper labels or paper tags which are individually removable from the support sheet. The label assembly constitutes a label assembly which is readily printable in a laser jet or any similar printing machine such as an ink jet printer or a typewriter which label system consequently rendering it possible to provide a printing on a specific label for identifying a lever arch file or ring binder by means of the label assembly.

Abstract: A bonding agent having an adhesive and a curing agent is formed on a bonding surface of a dial member. A transfer sheet is attached to a convex side of the dial members, and a release sheet is attached to its bonding agent side to form a dial label. When this dial label is attached to a dial base, the release sheet is peeled off and the dial label is attached to the dial base. The transfer sheet is peeled off together with the excess of the bonding agent, and then the bonding agent is cured by a curing agent. Since the bonding agent in the peripheral portions of the dial members is cured while bonding force is maintained, there is no adherence of fine particles of foreign matter, and a satisfactory appearance can be obtained.

Abstract: Disclosed herein is a wheel balancing device having a plurality of wheel balancing weights attached to a top surface of an elongate tape, and a backing strip removably attached to and protecting an adhesive layer on the bottom surface of the tape. The backing strip is serrated below the grooves separating the individual wheel balancing weights to facilitate separation of the individual weights quickly and easily. Each backing strip serration may be in the shape of a lift tab or finger grip to further ease removal of the backing strip from the adhesive layer on the bottom surface of the tape.

Abstract: A carrier sheet comprising a printed paper sheet having an integrated detachable card with a magnetic backing and method of manufacturing same is described. The carrier sheet is comprised of a printed paper sheet having printed matter on at least a front face thereof. The printed matter contains card information printed in a card area. A polyfilm patch is adhered over the card area and over the card information printed thereon. A thin flexible patch of magnet material is adhesively secured on a rear face of the paper sheet and extends over the card area. A die-cut is made in the sheet and delineates the contour of the card area and extends through the polyfilm patch, the paper sheet and partly into the patch of magnet material to form a burstable region along said die-cut to hold the card in the carrier sheet. The die-cut can have any ornamental shape.

Abstract: The invention relates to a greeting card containing a thermal transfer sheet. The transfer sheet of the present greeting card includes a (1) a support; (2) optionally at least one transfer layer; and (3) an image or an image receiving layer. According to the present greeting card, if the transfer material contains only (1) a support, and (3) an image, the image is not formed using a transferable ink. However, transferable inks may be used under specific conditions.

Abstract: The present invention provides a filament-bearing tape comprising an adhesive substrate that is releasably adhered to a surface to be coated and a filament releasably adhered to an edge of the substrate that is used to trim the applied coating. The invention further provides a method of trimming the coating comprising applying a masking material to the surface to be coated and a filament of material of sufficient tensile strength to cut the coating material, allowing the coating material to dry or cure until it obtains sufficient strength to hold a cut edge and drawing the filament through to form the cut edge. Finally, the present invention provides an apparatus for making a filament bearing tape comprising means for folding an adhesive substrate along a predefined line, applying a filament to the interior of the fold and closing said fold to retain said filament at the edge of the tape.

A method for applying walkway pads to roofing membranes comprises, affixing a 100 percent solids tape to one flat surface of a walkway pad, prior to use in the field, the opposite side of the tape carrying a protective layer of release paper; stripping the release paper from the tape immediately prior to use; subsequently placing the exposed surface of the tape directly onto the upper surface of the roofing membrane and, applying force directly to the walkway pad to enhance the bond between the pad and the membrane, created by the tape.

The die cut base paper layer, adhesive layer and breakaway layer comprise an information card wherein the breakaway layer has a greater affinity for the adhesive layer than the top surface of the primary film layer such that when the information card is removed from the form, the breakaway layer stays adhered to the bottom surface of the base paper layer.

Abstract: A business form is provided which is particularly useful in shipping products where certain preprinted information can be provided and then individualized information is printed before the form is applied to a substrate. The form includes a face ply which has a pattern of adhesive applied to at least a portion of the inner face, and a release liner which includes a pattern of adhesive which exposes a portion of the release liner to direct adhesive contact to the face ply without intervening release coating to permanently adhere a part of the release liner to the face ply. The face ply includes lines of perforation defining a central portion.
