    Abstract: A method and class of bond coat is provided that physically and chemically bonds solid layer lubricants and other functional coatings to a substrate by burnishing, for example, selected soft materials, including oxides such as antimony trioxide, against the substrate. The new method and bond coat is a major improvement over conventional bonding or coating methods. The process is non-vacuum at ambient temperatures, requiring no binders, adhesives, curing or baking. Lubricant performance can be enhanced by orders of magnitude compared to when the bond coat and burnishing process are not applied. The method is inexpensive, environmentally friendly, applicable to any substrate material, and scalable.

The discrimination of the various metal salts can be monitored by noting the fluorescence change in solution. The zinc salts with different counterions have different emission color in solution. The present invention also develop a new two photon active fluorescent Zn2+ specific probe for detecting Zn2+ in cellular environments.

    Abstract: In a copper-based sliding material in which a Cu alloy layer contains 5% to 30% by mass of Bi, and the balance consisting of Cu and an unavoidable impurity, Bi is dispersed as particles of a Bi phase in the Cu alloy layer, and the mass ratio of the particles having a particle size of 2 to 50 ?m and a circularity of 0.1 to 0.7 is 30% or more in the entire Bi phase in the Cu alloy layer, so that the particles of the Bi phase are uniformly dispersed in the Cu alloy layer. Therefore, the particles of the Bi phase in the Cu alloy layer are sequentially exposed to a sliding surface as wear of the sliding material progresses while excessive flow-out of molten Bi is prevented, so that improved seizure resistance is achieved.

A ratio of a true density of the Cu alloy matrix in relation to that of the inorganic compound particles is 0.6 to 1.4 and a ratio of a thermal expansion coefficient of the Cu alloy matrix in relation to that of the inorganic compound particles is 1.5 to 3.0. An average distance between the inorganic compound particles dispersed in the Cu alloy matrix is 5 to 50 ?m.

As a result, even after being used for a long period of time, the surface of the antireflection film is not finely flawed and is not peeled off, and it hardly occurs that the hands or dial plate are invisible due to surface mist and the antireflection function can be maintained.
