Abstract: A fishing lure includes: (i) a hook; and (ii) a fishing lure substrate coupled to the hook. The fishing lure substrate includes: (A) a fishing lure substrate body having an outer surface; (B) a water insoluble adhesive layer on the outer surface; and (C) flocking fibers electrostatically deposited on adhesive layer. The fibers are affixed at one end by the adhesive layer to the substrate body. The opposing end of the flocking fibers extends away from the substrate body. The fibers are configured such that air is entrapped between intrafibral spaces. Methods for forming the fishing lure and a kit including a hook and a preflocked substrate configured to be selectively coupled to the hook are also disclosed.
Abstract: A jig-type fishing lure has a weighted lure body holding a gravity-operated switch that controls the energization of an LED for illuminating fiber optic strands extending from the tail end of the lure body in proximity to a fishhook. A heat shrunk tube in the lure body holds the LED and the adjacent ends of the fiber optic strands.
Abstract: A fishing lure having a wire frame forming a receptacle which releasably receives and holds an elongated insert. The wire frame includes a first end and a second end. In one embodiment, the lure also includes an end cap having a cavity for releasably receiving the first end of the frame. A portion of the first end extends through the line cap. The lure also includes a hook end cap having a cavity for receiving the second end of the frame. The hood end cap includes an aperture. A portion of the second end of the wire frame extends through the aperture.

An elongated insert (which may be a chemiluminescent tube or a colored tube) is positioned in the cavity so that the element is exposed below and on both sides of the crankbait body. The chemiluminescent element is releaseably held in place by a bias spring, a loop located near the forward end of the cavity, or by flexing the element so that it is captured by recesses at the front and rear ends of the cavity.

Abstract: An electronic fishing lure assembly for attracting fish in all types of water conditions, includes a main body portion having a hollow interior, a plurality of hooks coupled to the main body portion, and a line eye coupled to the main body portion. A scent producing assembly is coupled to the main body portion. A microcontroller is positioned in the hollow interior, the microcontroller being electronically coupled to the scent producing assembly. A switch is coupled to the main body portion, the switch being electrically coupled to the microcontroller for selectively activating the microcontroller. The fishing lure assembly further includes a motion producing assembly and a light source for illuminating the main body portion.
