Conduit Feed Means Spaced From Ignited Burner Patents (Class 431/192)
  • Patent number: 11029026
Abstract: A high turn down ratio flare tip assembly, that allows for both low and high flowrate and pressure flows using a single flare. The flare assembly comprising a nozzle tube connected to the waste stream fuel inlet at one end. The other end of the flare tip assembly providing a seat for a conical structure with flow through orifices/ports that allow the waste stream to flow therethrough during low pressure operation. The conical structure connected to one end of a connecting rod, the connecting rod extending longitudinally downward through the nozzle tube and connected to a spring assembly. The flare tip assembly is designed to allow low flow and pressure to pass through the cone orifices, and during high flow and pressure operation, the cone is unseated from the nozzle tube, allowing the waste stream to flow therethrough. The flare tip assembly also includes a slotted/holed shroud that allows for smokeless combustion of the waste stream during high flow and pressure conditions.

  • Patent number: 9846248
Abstract: The invention relates to an arrangement for seismic acquisition the spacing between each adjacent pairs of receiver and sources lines is not all the same. Some receiver and/or source lines and/or receiver and/or source spacings are larger and some are smaller to provide a higher quality wavefield reconstruction when covering a larger total area or for a similar total area of seismic data acquisition while providing a wavefield that is optimally sampled by the receivers and sources so that the wavefield reconstruction is suitable for subsurface imaging needs.

  • Patent number: 9267686
Abstract: An apparatus and method for monitoring the status of one or more pilot flames or of the main flame in a flare system. A collimator, quartz light tube, or other receiver is positioned near the combustion zone and receives an image which is transmitted via a fiber optic line to an analyzing sensor which is located at a safe distance from the flare system. The fiber optic line preferably extends through a pilot gas line, a flame front generator line, or other protective conduit so that the fiber optic line can be cooled and purged by pilot gas, instrument air, or other cooling gas media which is continuously delivered through the conduit.

  • Patent number: 8690976
Abstract: A fuel reformer is provided that is capable of improving endurance and performance. The fuel reformer includes a first burner having a first-burner first end, a first-burner second end, and a first opening formed in the first-burner first end; a second burner surrounding the first burner and having a second-burner second end, a second-burner second end, and a second opening in the second-burner first end, wherein the second-burner second end is coupled to the first-burner second end to communicate a fluid. The reforming reactor is configured to generate heat from the first and second burners, and has a fuel supply including a nozzle unit in the first burner and supplies a second oxidation fuel from the outside to the first burner. A first oxidation fuel is introduced into the first opening and flows through the first burner in a first direction and flows through the second burner in a third direction opposite to the first direction.

Abstract: A system and method for reducing emissions from a boiler. A boiler generally has a combustion area. The system further includes a fuel pipe for delivering fuel. The system further includes a conduit. A bore extends through the conduit. The bore of the conduit is in fluid communication with the fuel pipe and the combustion area of the boiler. A pre-ignition source is positioned in the conduit. The pre-ignition source operates to pre-ignite at least a portion of the fuel flowing through the conduit.

  • Patent number: 4376627
Abstract: Burners operating with combustion air as the combustion-sustaining gas and a fuel, generally a vaporizable liquid fuel, have at least one ceramic body formed with passages for these two fluids allowing heat exchange through the walls separating these passages. According to the invention, these walls are porous so that fuel in the fuel passage can traverse the wall into an adjoining air passage by evaporization on the surface. The combustion air can be heated by recuperative heat exchange from exhaust gases of the combustion chamber. Burner heads of this type can be paired in mirror-symmetrical relationship.

  • Patent number: 4188937
Abstract: A grill for cooking has a gas burner, a gas igniter adjacent that burner, and a piezo electric spark source. The grill has a metal casting; and the igniter has a bracket that mechanically secures and electrically connects that igniter to that casting, and also constitutes one arcing contact of that igniter. One contact of the spark source is electrically connected to the casting; and a wire connects the other contact of that spark source to a second arcing contact of the igniter. A shielding portion of the igniter overlies the confronting ends of the arcing contacts to keep fat, meat juices and other drippings from engaging those confronting ends.

  • Patent number: 4025281
Abstract: Apparatus for flaring combustible waste gases from oil refineries and the like including a vertical flare stack, a continuously burning pilot burner mounted adjacent the flare stack and a temporary flame retention burner mounted in close proximity to the pilot burner. The pilot burner is provided with a venturi for producing a combustible air-gas mixture and a spark producing device which ignites the combustible mixture in the burner thereby producing a flame front which travels to the top of the burner and ignites the temporary flame retention burner. After the spent gas has been purged from the pilot burner by continuing to flow combustible gas therethrough, the pilot burner is reignited by the flame retention burner, the latter then being extinguished by shutting off its supply.

  • Patent number: 4020821
Abstract: A gas cooking range of the smooth top type has four burners positioned under a single plate of heat-resistant glass/ceramic material; and a single igniter and safety control assembly is centrally positioned between the burners. The supply of gas to each of the burners flows through an ignition chamber where it is ignited, and it then flows through a combustion tube to a combustion chamber, where combustion is completed. Some air is mixed with the gas at the fuel supply control valve, and additional air is supplied through the ignition chamber. The burning gas mixture then flows through the combustion tube to the combustion chamber at the entrance of which an additional quantity of air is added to provide the remainder of air necessary for complete combustion.
