Abstract: The present invention relates to a dental implant having recombinant bone morphogenic protein coated on the processed surface thereof, which, when implanted into the jawbone, enables undifferentiated adult cells around the implant site to be rapidly differentiated into osteoblasts so as to induce osteoconductive healing to thereby reduce a healing period, as well as a coating method thereof. According to the invention, recombinant bone morphogenic protein BMP-2 penetrates between ceramic balls formed on the dental implant surface, sheet structures of calcium triphosphate or fine pores formed by anodic oxidation, so as to form a coating film. Thus, the recombinant bone morphogenic protein BMP-2 is not detached from the dental implant surface even during the surgical implantation of the implant.

Abstract: A method and system useful for planning a dental restorative procedure of a patient and for producing at least one dental restoration or product related thereto to be used in said dental restorative procedure are disclosed. Input data from different sources, e.g. 3D data from a CT scan of a patient with a dental impression tray including a previously prepared dental impression of the patient in the patient's mouth, is matched with data from a high resolution 3D scan of the same dental impression. The resulting data is for instance matched by means of fiducial markers arranged at the dental impression tray. Thus reliable planning and production are enabled by means of the same, matched data set. In this manner the dosage to which the patient is exposed to may be reduced in comparison to previous methods.

  • Patent number: 7040885
Abstract: A mold used in duplicating a denture consists of a tissue side mold section and an exterior side mold section. The tissue side mold section is made of a dimensionally stable material, such as dental stone or an addition-cured silicone rubber, so that the tissue side of the denture can be accurately reproduced at a later time. The exterior side mold is made of a resilient material, so that the original denture and its duplicate can be removed from the mold. The mold sections are housed in a two part flask that was initially used to fabricate the mold sections. The mold is fabricated by the steps of forming an impression of the original denture, and of fabricating a replacement denture using this mold.

  • Patent number: 7024770
Abstract: The invention provides high strength dental polymeric dental products made from wax-like polymerizable dental material. These dental products have superior strength compared to products formed from prior wax-like polymerizable materials. Prior wax-like polymerizable materials do not form strong enough polymeric material for making dentures. High strength dentures are made by positioning artificial teeth in wax-like polymerizable dental material of the invention. This material is then shaped and polymerized to the form a denture base of high strength dental polymeric material. These dentures are completed without forming wax and without applying inorganic plaster to the artificial teeth.

Abstract: Method of the making dental restorations having photo-initiated polymerizable dental compositions. The method comprises preheating a dental restoration precursor of a defined shape or anatomy in a temperature range from about 65°-120° C. for a length of time for the temperature to reach a temperature equilibrium. The time preferably ranges from about 1 minute to 30 minutes. Thereafter, the dental composition is light cured to polymerize the dental restoration. The restoration produced through this process will have at least 10% or higher strength than the dental restorations made by conventional methods.
