Conductor Clamping And Shaping Patents (Class 439/459)
  • Patent number: 11745022
Abstract: The present invention relates to an implantable lead comprising at least one conductive wire and a connector. The connector is configured to be connected to an implantable medical device, such as a cardiac stimulation, a defibrillation or/and a neuromodulation device, and further comprising a strain relief device extending longitudinally along an axis from one end of the connector and essentially parallel to the longitudinal axis of the connector. The conductive wire is deflected by a deflection wall of the strain relief device such that the deflection wall of the strain relief device blocks the conductive wire against the deflection wall when the conductive wire is stressed in tension, and the deflection wall extends along an axis which is misaligned with the longitudinal axis of the strain relief device.

Abstract: A wiring harness 1 includes a wire 11, a binding band 20 to be wound on and fixed to the wire 11 and a housing 30 to be externally mounted on the wire 11. The housing 30 includes a restricting groove 46 for receiving the binding band 20. A displacement of the wire 11 with respect to the housing 30 is restricted by the binding band 20 being locked to a groove side surface 46A of the restricting groove 46. According to this configuration, manufacturing tolerances and assembling tolerances can be absorbed by setting certain clearances between the binding band 20 and the groove side surfaces 46A. Further, even if a tensile force is applied to the wire 11, the deviation of a winding position of the binding band 20 on the wire 11 can be suppressed.

Abstract: A thermocouple connector arrangement that has a first connector configured to have a thermocouple probe lead extending therefrom and a second connector configured to have an electrical connection lead extending therefrom. Each connector has an interior configured to receive a terminus of the respective lead. The connectors include electrically conductive mating parts that, when mated, provide an electrical conduction path. At least one of the first and second connectors includes housing parts that mate in a snap-lock arrangement without the use of a threaded fastener to secure the housing parts together and to enclose the respective interior, one of the housing parts engages the respective terminus and secures the respective terminus against removal by shrouding an end of the respective conductive mating part and pressing the respective terminus into electrical contact with the respective conductive mating part during the mating of the housing parts.

  • Patent number: 7080985
Abstract: A quick release connector is provided. In one embodiment the connector includes an electrical connector including a first component having a first plurality of teeth and a second component having a second plurality of teeth. The first and second pluralities of teeth are configured to selectively engage and disengage one another upon connecting and disconnecting the connector. The engagement of the teeth is operative to substantially prevent relative axial motion between the first and second portions of the connector. Embodiments of this invention may advantageously support axial loads while maintaining a reliable electrical contact. Various alternative embodiments include a gimbal assembly in which electric lines extend through the gimbal, straddling one of the gimbal axles. Such gimbal assemblies may also support axial loads.

  • Patent number: 7044786
Abstract: A connector has a terminal accommodating space (12) and a wire accommodating space (22). A terminal fitting (35) is accommodated in the terminal accommodating space (12) and a wire (30) is connected with the terminal fitting (35). The wire (35) is bent into the wire accommodating space (22) to form an L-shape. A bite-in portion (24) is formed on the inner surface of the wire accommodating space (22) for engaging the wire (30) on an inner side of the bend to plastically deform the wire (30). The engagement of the wire (30) by the bite-in portion (24) reduces the resilient restoring force of the wire (30). As a result, the resilient restoring force of the wire (30) is less likely to incline the terminal fitting (35) in the terminal accommodating space (12).

  • Patent number: 6858471
Abstract: In one embodiment of the present invention, a method for fabricating semiconductor devices comprises forming an active region about a front-side of a substrate. A plurality of trenches are then formed about a back-side of the substrate. A grid of banks separates the trenches. A conductive material is then applied to the back-side of the substrate. The trenches and the conductive material act to reduce the on-state resistance of the substrate and enhance thermal conductivity, while the grid of banks maintains the structural strength of the wafer.
