The cable-guiding part is constructed, at the conductor exit end, with a stepped recess, such that when the cable-guiding part and conductor-guiding part are joined together, the central peg is pressed between the conductors and forces the conductors outwards against the inner contour of the stepped recess in the cable-guiding part.

Abstract: A strain relief for an insulation displacement connector contains a cap section, a base section, and a base tab. The cap section is movable between an open position and a closed position and has a wire insertion channel for guidedly receiving a wire. The channel has an entrance aperture for entry of the wire into the channel. The open position facilitates entry of the wire into the channel. The base tab is upstanding from the base section and extends into the wire insertion channel when the cap is in the closed position. In this orientation, the wire in the channel is forced by the base tab into contact with a portion of an inner wall of the channel thereby forming a friction fit therebetween. Thus, the wire is restrained in the channel and strain relieved.

Abstract: A submersible camera is releasably attached to a fishing line so that the submersible camera can observe the bait receiving end of the fishing line when the submersible camera and the bait receiving end of the fishing line are submerged in a body of water. The submersible camera is connected to a video monitor via video cable. By observing the bait receiving end of the fishing line on the video monitor a fisherman can obtain real time information regarding the fishing environment enabling the fisherman to make better informed decisions regarding the presence and desirability of fish, the attractiveness of the bait or lure to the fish, whether the fish are striking the bait, the appropriate time to apply a hooking yank, whether the fish is hooked and how aggressively should the fish be reeled in. This enables the fisherman to catch more desirable fish.

Abstract: A strain relief for ribbon cable (12) or discrete cables (82,84) in a connector (10). Strain relief insert (32) provides a recess (34) having a narrow entrance (36) into which is urged a fold (44) of cable (12) while the insert portions (42) are temporarily flexed or pivoted apart, or the fold is insertable from an end of the recess; a retention rod (46) is inserted into the fold above the cable from the side, such that a cable loop (50) extends around the rod at bend (44). The assembly is then urged into a shell pocket (24) adjacent the cable exit (20), with the pocket sidewalls (52) preventing the insert portions (42) from spreading apart at the narrow entrance after assembly. Strain from the cable (12,82,84) onto the connector tends to urge the cable loop (50) and rod (46) against the constriction of the narrow recess entrance (36) but they are trapped in the recess. A self-sustaining strain relief member (92) may be secured to a connector at its cable exit.
