With Opening Encircling Retaining Collar Patents (Class 439/550)
  • Patent number: 5066247
Abstract: An electrical wiring system for use in construction of buildings consisting of fittings moulded of a dielectric material with internal circuitry and wire attachments that can be quickly and easily installed in round holes in panel materials of varying thicknesses by means of a metal clip. These fittings connected to each other with BX cable provide a foolproof installation that is impossible to short out and can be accomplished by labor not skilled in electrical wiring. Not only is the labor cost involved in installing this system reduced, but the material costs are also greatly reduced compared with the costs of conventional wiring.

  • Patent number: 4906204
Abstract: An electrical connector comprises a male connector body having a rigid cantilevered lock arm which slides into a track portion of a female connector body. The female connector body as a flexible internal latch arm which has a lock projection which engages in a window of the rigid lock arm to lock the connector bodies together.A connector position assurance device slides into a gauge slot of the female connector body only if the connector bodies are properly engaged and the internal flexible latch arm is fully engaged in the window of the rigid lock arm.

  • Patent number: 4863398
Abstract: An adapter for establishing electrical connections such as telephone or data line connections includes a face plate sized to fit through a corresponding aperture in a wall panel and a back plate larger than the aperture to abut the rear of the wall panel. A bracket is received about the face plate from the front of the panel. The bracket includes upper and lower projections which are received in corresponding aligned slots on the face plate for mounting the adapter to the face plate.

  • Patent number: 4707046
Abstract: The invention provides a safety electrical connector construction in the form of electrical receptacles carried by a weatherproof housing on a front panel. The receptacles are of insulating material, with attached contactor pins having exposed exterior faces adapted for engagement by cooperable spring-loaded pins of a line plug from a liquid transfer facility that receives electrical information for monitoring tank filling operations. The receptacles have collars which interlock with the line plugs whereby the latter must be manually released prior to the vehicle being driven off after termination of the filling. The mounting of the receptacles includes unique simplified detent means which are arranged to yield under excessive forces experienced thereby, and to release the receptacles from their supporting panels in the case of an emergency, such as if the driver of a vehicle would forget to uncouple the line plug and would drive the vehicle off with the line still connected.

  • Patent number: 4703508
Abstract: A loudspeaker terminal strip has a generally cup-shaped, semi-cylindrical, extending portion that is press-fit into a hole formed in the wall of a speaker cabinet. The semi-cylindrical extending portion has a flat longitudinal plane formed on the cup-shaped semi-cylindrical portion that extends beyond the extension of the cup-shaped semi-cylindrical portion and acts as a flat guide wall during assembly to align the terminal strip in the hole, both radially and axially. The hole in the cabinet wall is also formed as a partial circle with a chord that corresponds in width to the width of the flat guide wall and which initially engages the flat guide wall during insertion of the terminal strip into the hole.
