Divided Parallel To Longitudinal Engagement Axis (e.g., Formed Of Two Casing Halves) Patents (Class 439/696)
  • Patent number: 4938719
Abstract: A junction block comprises a pair of first and second cover cases each having an inner surface and an outer surface, the inner surface grooves therein; a plurality of electrical conductors each having a first portion, a second portion, and a middle portion therebetween, the first portion being received in a groove of the first cover case and the second portion being received in a groove of the second cover case; contact-terminals inserted into the cover cases through the grooves to protrude through the outer surfaces of the first and second cover cases for electrical connection with external circuits as well as the conductors; the first cover case being piled on the second cover case such that the respective inner surfaces face each other; and insulating partitioning means sandwiched between the first and second cover cases.

  • Patent number: 4826439
Abstract: A self-latching lamp jack comprising first and second dielectric plates disposed in opposing relationship for forming respective opposing sides of the lamp jack. One of the opposing plates is provided with a plurality of interposed wall portions for forming a pair of lamp conductor receiving cavities adjacent one end of the lamp jack. Also, the self-latching lamp jack includes a pair of electrical contact members which are blade-like and are disposed edge-wise between the opposing dielectric plates. Each of the contact members has an end portion disposed in a respective one of the lamp conductors receiving cavities and a midportion provided with a pair of laterally extended tabs which protrude into respectively aligned slots in the plates. The contact members have opposing terminal end portions which extend out of another end portion of the lamp jack.

  • Patent number: 4799903
Abstract: A connector plug for permanent connection to a plurality of conductors each having a bundle of wire strands. The plug includes a housing formed by complementary insulating shells which abut each other at their edges. Contact members secured in the shells each include a connection portion for connection within the housing to a respective one of the conductors at an end portion from which insulation has been removed over a predefined length to expose the wire strands. An insulating partition is disposed between each connection portion and the abutting edges of the shells to prevent any wire strands remaining loose after connection from projecting from the housing.

  • Patent number: 4781614
Abstract: An electric plug has registering housing shells which interlock when pressed together by way of flexible legs with locking feet on one of the shells which pass through passages in the other shell. These legs deflect while the feet pass through the passages whereupon the legs spring back causing the feet to snap into locking position. The housing shells present a wireway into which contact barbs and a cord piercing and spreading prong project to respectively make electrical contact with the wire leads in an insulated cord in the wireway and to pass through and clamp the cord against outwardly curved side wall portions of the wireway while the housing shells are being pressed together.

  • Patent number: 4737113
Abstract: A telephone jack assembly having a modular unitary housing, and jack field comprising a plurality of jack assemblies. Each jack assembly includes a plurality of jack contacts for engaging and receiving a telephone plug in a plurality of positions, wherein the jack contacts are retained by a unitary housing formed to maintain the jack contacts in physical alignment for electrical contact to the plugs when fully seated. The unitary housing includes recesses therein to accurately retain the jack contacts in precise height, width and depth positions relative to the plugs inserted therein, replacing the numerous elements and spacers heretofore used in a telephone jack assembly. The individual jack assemblies are then connected to external wiring connecting blocks by flexible printed circuits having constant impedance path pairs, which replace the individually hand-wired twisted-pair construction previously used.

  • Patent number: 4682838
Abstract: A multipolar plug has a two-piece plastic housing which partially confines one or more one-piece synthetic plastic inserts each of which has a centrally located retaining section removably engaging the housing and a two-part second section. One part of the second section is confined in the housing, and the other part constitutes one or more prongs which can enter a receptacle to engage their contact members with complementary contact members in the receptacle. Each second section carries two or four discrete strip-shaped contact members which are blanked from sheet metal and have central portions fully embedded in the respective retaining section. Each contact member further includes a second portion which is partially embedded in the first part of the respective second section, and a third portion which is partially embedded in the second part of the respective second section. The contact members are disposed, either singly or in pairs, at the opposite sides of the respective second section.
