A series of U-shaped, spaced-apart lamp holders are riveted to the inside of the angle strip. The rivets and the holders are arranged so that the holders are alternatingly electrically connected to one or the other electrically conductive track so that each pair of proximate holders mounted to the angle strip is of a different polarity. The holders further define resilient arms, each provided with a hole for receiving, holding and electrically connecting conical contact ends of the lamps with the holders to thereby energize the lamps when the conductive strips are connected to a source of electric power.

  • Patent number: 5211579
Abstract: A battery holder is disclosed which is of one piece construction and which includes a housing having a base and a pair of spaced end walls. One of the end walls is longer than the other and defines a recess therein which is configured to receive one end of the battery when the battery is inserted in the housing. A resilient terminal contact is provided at both ends of the housing and the terminal contact at the end opposite the recess is configured in a manner such that as the battery is being inserted in the housing the terminal contact is biased toward its end of the housing, and when the battery has been inserted into the housing the resilient terminal contact moves into overlying relationship with its end of the battery to hold that end of the battery against removal from the housing. In addition, terminal tails are provided on the terminal contacts which are kinked across their width to retain the connector on a circuit board prior to soldering.

  • Patent number: 5108314
Abstract: Connector assemblies for electrical components include a base frame having opposing side walls and opposed pairs of interior walls which are disposed parallel to the side walls. The interior walls define a mounting hole which is sized and configured to receive an individual one of the holders. The interior walls are interiorly spaced from their respective side walls so as to establish a relief slot therebetween. The side walls of the base frame are provided with vertically separated locking tabs and mounting flanges. During mounting of the connector assembly to the supporting structure, the locking tabs will be inwardly resiliently displaced until such time that they each clear the edge which defines the mounting space in the supporting structure for the connector assembly. At that time, the locking tabs will resiliently return to their "normal" condition. As a result, the supporting structure will be lockably positioned between the vertically separated locking tabs and mounting flanges.

  • Patent number: 4938708
Abstract: A pair of terminals are each provided with snap dentents for engaging the contact pins extending from the opposite ends of a baseless cartridge bulb. The terminals are mounted to a support and are spaced a distance D which is substantially exactly the same as the spacing between the contact pins at their points of intended engagement with the terminals. This minimizes the loading on the contact pins relative to their seals with the body of the cartridge bulb, and also provides the support for the bulb. The terminals are of a configuration which facilitates relative entry and removal of the bulb's contact pins, yet also releasably retains those pins in good conducting relation therewith.

  • Patent number: 4938709
Abstract: Terminals for electrically contacting wire loops disposed on each end of a cartridge type bulb are formed from resilient electrically conducting sheet metal. Each terminal consists of an elongated member having a relatively narrow contact portion joined to a wider base portion at a shoulder. The contact portion has a outwardly projection tab acting to retain the wire loop of a cartridge type bulb, while the base portion has a downwardly projecting tab for securing the terminal in a lamp housing or socket assembly. A means for electrically connecting a wire to end of the base of the terminal is provided by arcuate shaped projecting tabs which can be crimped over the wire core and insulating jacket.
