  • Patent number: 8738076
Abstract: Systems and methods are disclosed for originating a call to a wireless number by a contact center while enforcing various compliance requirements. In one embodiment, a compliance server and a PBX cooperate to originate the call to the wireless number. The agent logs into the compliance server and the compliance server provides the agent with a wireless number to dial. The agent manually enters the wireless number using a phone connected to the PBX. The PBX queries the compliance server regarding establishing the wireless call. Upon authorization, the PBX establishes a first call leg to the compliance server, and a second call leg to the called party that is joined with the call leg to the agent's phone. Upon completion of the call, the agent dispositions the call to the compliance server, which then releases the first call leg. In response, the PBX then releases the second call leg.

  • Patent number: 8270992
Abstract: A system and method for providing quality-of-service based network resource allocation and utilization in a dynamic network environment. For example, a wireless communication network may comprise a first system and a second system. The first system may provide a current service to a user at a current quality level. The first system and second system may establish a wireless communication link. At least one of the first and second systems may determine whether utilizing one or more resources of the second system will provide the current service to the user at a higher level of quality than the current quality level. One or more resources of the second system may be allocated for providing the current service to a user at a higher quality level. The allocated resources may be utilized to provide the current service to the user at a higher quality level than the current quality level.

  • Patent number: 8204096
Abstract: An automatic frequency hopping method is provided for use with a wireless device. The wireless device could transmit data in two or more communication frequency bands. According to the counts of successful data transmission in respective communication frequency bands, the reasons of communication failure are analyzed. According to the reasons of communication failure, the automatic frequency hopping method discriminates whether a frequency hopping procedure is performed. Since the frequency hopping procedure is performed when a proper frequency hopping condition is satisfied, the automatic frequency hopping method could achieve the power-saving purpose and avoid the wireless communication interference with other wireless devices.

Abstract: In a case where a cellular phone exists outside a WOS system service area, the cellular phone receives a not-connectable signal and an audio message from a mobile switching controller. The cellular phone conducts disconnection processing with the not-connectable signal as a turning point. Moreover, the cellular phone stores an extension number and converts a dedicated special number into an external number for retransmission, thus establishing connection to a PBX. After the reception of a connection-accepted signal and an automatic exchange answer message from the PBX, the cellular phone automatically transmits the stored extension number.

  • Patent number: RE43308
Abstract: A method and apparatus to perform a real-time drift correction of a remote handset's local oscillator in a digital cordless telephone. The remote handset begins in a standby (sniff) mode. The remote handset periodically wakes from a sleep mode and goes into a normal link verification mode. Once in the link verification mode, the remote handset enters a time division duplexing (TDD) mode and attempts to establish a link with a base unit based on the timing of the TDD data frame. After the remote handset establishes a link with the base unit, the remote handset requests a security word from the base unit. Upon receiving the requested security word, the remote handset determines if the requested security word matches a security word of the remote handset. The remote handset implements a software frequency adjustment of its local oscillator. Once per frame, the remote handset enters a timing recovery state where the current state of the frame is compared with a previous state.
