Abstract: A tube is used in fiber-reinforced plastic power transmission shaft. The tube comprises: a cylindrical body section; a connection portion that has a larger diameter than the body section; and an inclined portion that has an outer diameter that increases toward the second connection section from the main body part. The inclined section has formed thereon, a weak section that is damaged when a load input in the axial direction exceeds a prescribed value. With this configuration, the cost of the tube can be reduced, and when a prescribed load is input to the tube in the axial direction, the tube is reliably damaged.

  • Patent number: 10156260
Abstract: Disclosed is a two-component power take-off (PTO) coupling system for efficient and simplified attachment of implements to a power take-off system of a tractor or other prime mover, having a first component to be attached to the PTO shaft of the tractor or other driver and a second component attached to the implement to be coupled. The coupling system serves to eliminate the difficult task of attaching or detaching a power shaft on a rotary driven farm implement such as a rotary cutter, tiller, generator, pump, etc. to tractor power take off (PTO) or any other driver that has an auxiliary splined power out-put shaft. It is designed for any application in any industry that requires frequent connecting or disconnecting of a rotating shaft to transfer power or torque. The coupling system can accommodate two different series PTO shaft types for example, if the implement has a type two (2) shaft but the owner's tractor is a type one (1) the coupling system can be adapted to accommodate both.

Abstract: A torque-limiting coupling may be used to provide a torsion drive between an engine or motor and a driven accessory. If an accessory should experience a catastrophic failure a torsion limit is exceeded and a spline breaks away from the coupling. This guarantees that the internal engine gearing used to drive the accessory is not compromised and interfering with essential moving parts inside the engine. Further, a misalignment compensation limits the side load and wear that occurs when coupling two precision shafts with little clearance on the bearings. With a misalignment coupling, the mount can be slightly out of parallel with no negative effects.

  • Patent number: 7803056
Abstract: A power transmission device includes: a pulley 1 rotatably attached to a casing 9; a hub 2 connected to the pulley 1 by an engagement of protrusions with recesses; and a power shutoff member 3 interposed between the hub 2 and a rotary shaft 4. The power shutoff member and the rotary shaft 4 are joined to each other by means of screwing. When a water intrusion path formed between a hub side seating face of the hub and a shaft side seating face 44 of the rotary shaft is formed into a labyrinth structure, water is prevented from entering the seating face. An engagement portion 35 on the power shutoff member side is engaged with a hub side engagement portion 21a so that it can be accommodated in the hub side engagement portion 21a, and the power shutoff member can be rotated together when the hub is rotated. An engagement gap formed between a power shutoff member side engagement portion and a hub side engagement portion in the radial direction perpendicular to an axis of the rotary shaft is in a range from 0.

The traction controller is configured to engage the differential apparatus in a first operating state according to at least one vehicle operating parameter indicative of a low traction operating condition and to further control engagement of the differential apparatus in a second vehicle operating state during the low traction operating condition according to a difference between an actual vehicle yaw rate and a predetermined target vehicle yaw rate. The control system also includes a stability controller for controlling engagement of the differential apparatus at or above the predetermined vehicle speed.

Abstract: A power transmission device having a coupling portion of a driven body and a drive body constituted by combining a positive torque transmission member for transmitting torque in forward rotational direction but interrupting transmission of torque from the drive body by breaking itself when the drive load of the driven body exceeds a predetermined level, with a separate negative torque transmission member for transmitting torque in reverse rotational direction is further provided with a means for generating pretension in the positive torque transmission member in the pulling direction and simultaneously generating a pretension in the negative torque transmission member in the compressing direction after both torque transmission members are combined. A highly reliable power transmission device which can impart a desired pretension precisely and conveniently, and can interrupt torque properly by suppressing fatigue of material at the coupling portion can be provided.

Abstract: A power transmission device (10) comprises a rotatable rotary part (1, 2) to which a rotational drive force is transmitted from a drive source and a power transmission shut-off member (3) that shuts off transmission of an excessive torque between the rotary part and a rotating shaft (4) of a device to be driven. The power transmission shut-off member is threadedly coupled to the rotating shaft and can rotate with the rotating shaft. The rotary part is installed so as to be sandwiched between the power transmission shut-off member and the rotating shaft. A disc spring (8), installed between the power transmission shut-off member and the rotary part, is further provided. A caulked part (204a) for preventing a part of the power transmission shut-off member from dropping is provided on the front end side of the rotating shaft.
