Motor Operated Patents (Class 472/119)
  • Patent number: 5378196
Abstract: A child swing motor apparatus includes a swing motor and a mechanism for using energy discharged from the swing motor to swing a child seat hanging from a child swing frame. The apparatus also includes an indicator for visually indicating the remaining run time of the swing motor during running of the swing motor to swing the child seat. The swing motor includes a spring and a spring winding mechanism. An escapement mechanism is also provided to impart pendulum motion to the swinging child seat using torque generated by the spring.

  • Patent number: 5376053
Abstract: A motorized swing for disabled persons and children which provides pendulous reciprocal movement as well as rotational movement. Electric motors drive mechanisms for inducing reciprocal and rotational movement either separately or in combination. Sensory activated switches are electrically connected to said motors to allow handicapped persons and children to control the movement of said swing.

  • Patent number: 5326327
Abstract: A swing assembly is provided in which low profile side members are used to support a seat member for gliding back and forth movement. The seat member may be rotated between sitting and inclined positions and includes a movable T-bar which is adapted to be pivoted forwardly in order to facilitate movement of an infant into and out of the seat.

  • Patent number: 5139462
Abstract: An automated swing includes a support frame assembly and a swinging frame assembly pivotally mounted to the support frame assembly. A seat is carried by the swinging frame assembly, and a swinging drive mechanism is interposed between the support frame assembly and the swinging frame assembly. The swinging drive mechanism includes a pair of resilient belts. Each belt is driven by an elliptical pulley mounted to a rotating drive shaft, with each belt being engageable with the swinging frame assembly. Upon rotation of the elliptical pulleys in response to rotation of the drive shaft, the belts pull the swinging frame assembly in one direction, with tension being introduced into the belts. Continued rotation of the elliptical pulleys releases tension in the belts, to allow the swinging frame assembly to swing in the other direction. The resiliency of the belts provides smooth transition between forward and rearward movement of the swinging frame assembly, to provide a smooth and comfortable swinging motion.
